Very overpriced for what it is. Stopped off here today for a quick bite and a coffee. Ordered a Cheese & Onion toastie at £8.25 and a coffee at £3.25. The toastie was a very light in the filling department given the price and it came with a tiny ramekin of crisps and a dollop of coleslaw. No cutlery was given or offered. The coffee was plain filtered from one of those glass jugs where it sits and stews for ages. The staff are pleasant which is why I’m not giving this one star. The rest of their food might be brilliant which I would hope given the high number of excellent scores on here but for what I received and was charged £11.50 for the privilege it was vastly overcharged. Won’t be stopping here again which is a shame as it’s in a decent spot for stopping off between Newcastle and Edinburgh.

I ordered the beef chilli nachos for around £5 - it was served in a little box which was filled with nachos smothered in lovely salsa, chilli and guacamole. It was lovely, too much for me to finish off...so i took the rest home for later. and the moretti is only £3.50 so what's not to like

We booked for Sunday Roast and we were seated upstairs , the room with a view across towards the bay. The staff were friendly and helpful , the food was very tasty , loved my veggie roast , mushroom and truffle in pastry , very relaxed and organised . Really decent priced Sunday roast , peaceful and warm ! Would definately return and try the other menus xx

First time visiting Marshall’s with my husband and 6 year old. It was quite full when we arrived however we managed to get a table within 10minutes of waiting and got served almost straight away. The waitress was incredibly helpful with the menu regarding my son’s peanut allergy and although it was busy she genuinely seemed happy to help us. The food was INCREDIBLE. My husband and I had the breakfast option 2&3 and everything was cooked fresh and beautifully. It was hot to the table and no faults at all. My son had the pancakes and absolutely loved those too! Overall, it was a great experience food and service wise, it is however quite loud as it is a small cafe. If you have anyone with sensory issues I recommend bringing earmuffs.

We hadn't been to Wylam before and stumbled upon The Ship by accident. So glad we did - real secret gem. Dog friendly, food amazing and Kay and the staff very friendly. Our turkey pie was full of turkey and I have no idea how they cooked the chunky chios- but want the recipe. Even the root vegetables were melt in the mouth gorgeous. We even got a small doggie treat free of charge. Definitely recommend

Popped in for lunch before driving home to Glasgow after arriving at Newcastle airport. Food is absolutely delicious! Baked potatoes were huge and very tasty. My husband raved about his soup and sandwich combo. Staff were so friendly and welcoming, wish I was closer to be able to pop back in!
