A great find, purely by accident. The first bonus it was dog friendly, second being they made vegan cakes! 🌱 I had a lovely peach and walnut cake with a delicious oat milk latte. We returned the next day where I enjoyed a coffee/walnut cake and coffee. The lower part of cafe is dog friendly, not the upper section, but there are plenty of seats. This cafe was constantly busy, the lunches looked to be very good too. Quirky cafe, would highly recommend.

Wow what a gem of a place, stumbled across this place when in the area walking for the weekend. Had an incredible evening meal followed by breakfast the next morning. Really friendly staff and environment, the service was excellent, Will definitely come back and hopefully stay next time too.

BEWARE of overcharging at this shop. They don’t take cash, a detail you only find out when you are at the till, and was then overcharged by 75% on the card machine. As I wasn’t offered a receipt this fact wasn’t obvious until I was in an area where there was phone reception. Two trips back to the shop have failed to recoup the money and now no one is answering the mobile number I was given. Poor experience all round.

Found this place by doing a web search for “best breakfast in Alnwick”. Big car park.. Attentive professional staff. Nice dining room (with a little shop) Great coffee. Quality breakfasts - one ‘full’ and one Foxy scone I think it was called. Good sausages! Two slight observations. I’m never a fan of places taking what could have been a lovely moist piece of bacon and flattening it and essentially drying it out so it’s stiff as a board, but hey ho, it was bacon I suppose. Also (and this happens absolutely everywhere in my experience - which is a bit odd) when beans come in a separate ramekin (if that’s the right word) they’re never piping hot. Overall it was a great visit.

Liked the look of the deli and spotted the busy cafe upstairs. Grabbed the last table as fancied a cup of tea and piece of cake. Frequented by locals as well as tourists, always a good sign. Prompt and friendly service - good choice of local produce, plumped for the Bakewell tart, good choice. Tea was plentiful with hot water top up not a problem. My better half picked the fruit scone - decent size although slightly surprised that this contained blueberry. Well worth a visit if you are in For bridge.

The best ice cream in Northumberland can be found at this place. We had two ice creams - blue raspberry, strawberry, pistachio and walnut & maple. The blue raspberry wasn't to my taste, but the other three were nothing short of spectacular! We've previously had banana, coconut, marzipan and other flavours, and they've all be 5*.

We visited for lunch en route to Kielder and opted for the lunchtime special. Excellent selection of starters, mains and desserts, something for everyone’s taste. My partner and son were slightly disappointed with their food as the description on the menu stated that it had gammon and also duck eggs but when it arrived it was cold ham and the eggs were not duck eggs. My steak and ale pie was delicious though, and son’s partner really enjoyed the fish and chips. The desserts were fantastic! Chocolate mousse with honeycomb for the guys which they really loved. Dairy-free ice cream for son’s partner and I had the mixed berry cheese cake with some double cream. That was absolutely fantastic so much so that I am tempted to ask for a whole one to take home next time we visit, which I hope will be very soon. The pub itself is very homely, with a wood burning stove and I noticed a bookcase including kids’ books etc. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, very typical of local Northumbrian hospitality. We went on a sunny(-ish!) day and the view was lovely across from the pub. It was very handy for a lunch stop on our way up to Kielder as it’s on the main route from Otterburn up to the border (Carter Bar). Thank you very much, see you soon.

We have stopped off at this cafe on numerous occasions when passing and also staying at the Riverside Leisure Park over the road. On our last visit we called in for a takeaway coffee and cake. Unfortunately on this occasion the coffee was only really lukewarm. Not great as the prices are not particularly cheap. Will probably look elsewhere next time.
