The best restaurants in Penrith West Eden North West

It's the number one food hall. It was my first visit since the store was refurbished, although some things are a bit better I wasn't very impressed. The tills have been moved to the other end of the store I don't see the point why as you have to now walk through the store to get to the Caffe. There is a wonderful choice of chilled and frozen food and they have great pies. It's one of the best food stores in the UK.

Disappointing last night meal we had all been looking forward to. Asked for drinks prior to meal and Manager ( Ben ) said would send someone out - 15 mins later no-one had been - asked to go to table and again asked for drinks and food - another delay !! Again waited and waited for drinks - so again asked where drinks order was - finally arrived - was a white bottle of wine but was actually warm !! The cork had been removed but opening covered with foil ( small point but but then we were pretty frustrated and it was most expensive on menu !!) asked for wine chiller - told none left !! Another waiter had spotted issue and tried to sort - he went and brought one ??? By then we had had enough and said we really didn’t want a warm white wine with meal or wait to chill down after meal !! At end of meal another waitress asked how meal was - gave an explanation of what happened - apologised but appeared to smirk when manager walked by ? Asked if wanted to see manager - said yes ! Came back with a reduction of bill but said manager too busy to see us but was aware of issue !! Walked past manager ( Ben ) at end - refused eye contact so just asked his name and left !! Food was fine and would not normally have given 1 star but a manager who refuses to acknowledge a complaint or issue was disappointing - an apology and engagement with us was all required !! So different to a fabulous meal and exceptional service at Rajinda !!!

We visited here as a family and loved it. We are local to Penrith and this place never fails to impress us. I had the prawn fajitas and crumbed jalapeños- both were incredible (as always). Couldn’t fault the staff- friendly and kept checking in with us. Definitely worth a visit!

We have been many times when near Cumbria and have never been disappointed. Wonderful food, choice, quality & service. Great views from the balcony over the nursery & gardens. Until our next visit.

I guess I’m going to have to recalibrate my expectations. £14 for a breakfast consisting of 2 halves of a tomato, a soggy mushroom, a cup of beans, two small bits of bacon, a rather solid hash brown and two thin sausages. Oh and a coffee thrown in. Sausages were tasty enough but the rest was average at best. To me the rather large pieces of tomato were plate fillers. I also got a roll rather than the sourdough on offer. But roll was too floury.

Had brunch here yesterday and was extremely disappointed with the treatment of my child with a food intolerance. My daughter has been working her way up the milk ladder and is at the point where she can tolerate most dairy but ice cream is a step too far and would give her a sore tummy. The staff at the pancake house refused to swap her normal ice cream for vegan ice cream without ordering and paying for it as a separate dish. We ended up using the included kids dessert option so we did not have to pay for it but this meant we did not then get the dessert as other kids would. Very unfair. You don't charge extra for swapping to a gluten free pancake or from chocolate to vanilla ice cream so why this??

Absolutely amazing meal at the herd wick inn. Fresh and tasty food, lovely pub and friendly staff. Will definitely visit again

Steaks excellent. Table service poor. Felt like we were in an overflow room as restaurant was full and were forgotten by the staff. Just dont set tables in there when we are paying customers. Luckily the food was good but no one asked!! Or if we would like another drink

Great service and very tasty pizza! I often order pizza according to my own recipe and everything is great. Excellent delivery drivers and employees of the establishment are always happy to help <3 Sorry, only a third of the pizza is in the photo because it is very tasty

Came here with my son, haven’t been for a couple of years. Breakfast excellent! Big improvement from last time. Nice and clean place, breakfast well presented, quick service and good price. Will defiantly be back

This place is atmospherically welcoming. Has friendly, approachable staff. Recent new management. Good business potential. Staff are aware of many challenges ahead but facing them with dedication and focused perseverance. Listed building. Geographically, an ideal spot. Excellent food. Comfortable rooms.

We ordered a delivery to our holiday home this evening. We had Chinese and Japanese food. Everyone loved their food. It was tasty and fresh and didn't take too long to arrive. Thank you so much. Highly recommend 👌

Non LGV driver but I have stopped here a few times with family on our England-Scotland-England journey. Always clean and great food.

Good food, nice atmosphere with the Chesterfield couches in the pub area. 1 large TV for sports. Sunday roast was very nice too. Outside seating available.

A nice surprise! Good coffee and cake and the staff are lovely :)
