Called in on the off chance on New Yearâs Day as we saw it was dog friendly. Best decision weâd made, the staff were really accommodating as all the dog friendly tables were full but still managed to fit us in and allowed us to move to a better spot when it became available. Now the service and food what can I say it really was first class, I had possibly the best venison burger Iâve had and my partner was overwhelmed with the chicken burger, topped off with the nicest onion rings I think Iâve ever eaten. We also order sausages from the dog menu, yes itâs that dog friendly, and our pooch snapped them up pleasingly they came out first so had time to cool down by the time our food arrived. Now to the dessert I had the sticky toffee pudding, my partner the crumble, both were absolutely delicious.

IF you ever stay at this hotel AVOID the pool/spa area at all costs. Not worthy of 4 star hotel at all! We got there Monday morning and all the lights/electrics were down in the hotel for maintenance due to construction, so we had to walk through the hotel up and down stairs to the spa in the dark using our phones for flash, and as you can see from the images the experience just got worse from there. Old chewing gum, false nails, hair balls and grotty old tiles in and around the pool like theyâve never had a clean, not to mention the dust and dirt on the salon reception floor. The manager, Marina, tried her best to appease us saying the nails could have been from the âone ladyâ that was by the pool (we saw her and she wasnât having false nails). All these issues first thing on a Monday without any of the staff checking is shocking. We felt disgusted and left immediately - thankfully they refunded us ÂŁ30 for the day access for my wife which is the least they could do but we Wonât ever be coming back ever you shouldnât come either.

We booked here for New Years Day as a treat with family. I had booked for afternoon tea and when we arrived we were told they were only serving a set menu. We explained the situation and the gentleman serving us spoke to the chef and they agreed to make the festive afternoon tea for us. We waited a little while as everything was made fresh and when it was arrived it was all beautiful! Fresh sandwiches with plenty of filling, warm scones straight from the oven and a selection of yummy cakes. The staff were all attentive without being intrusive and nothing was too much trouble. What a was to great start 2025! A lovely experience from start to finish. We live in the village and we definitely be back. Thanks to the chef and all of the team at the walled garden.

A busy lunchtime, but despite other reviews the service was very attentive and timely. Lots of choice and variety on the menu...we opted for mackerel and beetroot salad and the salmon and crayfish salad. Both absolutely delicious, very fresh and generous portions. Blackcurrant and lemon posset dessert was to die for! Very good and already looking forward to our next visit!

Had high expectations when a friend & I visited today, menu had a good choice, lovely setting & welcoming staff. However for the price I felt underwhelmed, portions quite small, no salad on side with toasties, just watercress. Every meal seemed to contain an egg, even the burger & Caesar salad. Tea didnât taste quality, more like a standard brand. Food was nice, but I feel for the price they are charging other local similar cafes offer a lot more. Met up with a friend to catch up, we had booked, we was sat at the back with two families both had screaming babies. Totally appreciate this is not their fault, been there myself. We didnât say anything, not to upset the parents, but felt as there was plenty of empty tables in other parts of cafe they could have sat us elsewhere. Wonât be rushing back anytime soon.

We were passing through Great Eccleston and decided to try the fish bar and so glad we did. Friendly quick service. Freshly fried fish and chips with a proper chip shop curry. The fish was lightly battered and delicious. Also very reasonably priced. We will definitely return.

I visited this morning the hotel to deliver something to one of the hotel guest where I received an excellent guest or stakeholder services by the reception member called Paul and one girl ambassador or receptionist at the hotel reception. They helped me out of the box which is very admirable. I found an impresive atmosphere and friendly communication between team members which indicates they have received a satisfactory training by the seniors. Hope to see you again one day Thanks M Banatwala

This café has kept up its standards of good, reasonably priced fare. Unfortunately, since Covid it has only operated as a 'takeaway' and is closed at the beginning of the week. Things will get back to normal sometime, in the meantime call in whilst out walking on Beacon Fell. Enjoyed a coffee and a scone in the sunshine.

Located a few miles off the A6, the pub is a great old style village pub that serves great food. All the staff are attentive and helpful. Third visit in past year , all homemade. Great selection of meats on Sunday Lunch and Also homemade pies (beef and Haggis is excellent) I hope the pub continues as must be hard being just tucked away in the country. If you want a good traditional pub that serves great food visit the Green Man đđđ
