Lovely location overlooking Shanklin beach. 2 minutes walk to the sea, 10 minutes back up, this is hill not for the faint hearted. Great massage treatments and spa sessions. Lovely clean pool, jacuzzi and sauna. Well stocked bar and friendly staff.

Great homemade cakes and sandwiches in a converted railway station with lovely countryside views (better when the sun shines, but still nice when it doesn't!). They've even sorted the filter coffee since my last visit so it's now good to drink.

As someone who live to the rear of this bar I and many others have complained about the excessive noise, anti social behaviour, drunks flowing into the rear car park as if it part of the bar's property . They also use the car to park their vehicles as if their own yard without paying for a ticket. The children's slide and climbing area (if approved) is monitored from a distance! With all the anti social behaviour around this area the owners do nothing to help improve it; especially the noise polution this bar and it's clientele create! The "new. Management " promotion is a joke! Just the same anti social crowd! No respect for any neighbour even after the recent "noise complaint" raised with the council! Close the place as it should not have rear access / facilities within a residential area! Gives Ventnor a bad image!

I put off writing a review as I thought my experience was a one off issue, however after speaking with others over Xmas about some good (and not so good) places to eat on the island, I found that apparently it wasn’t a one off issue. The waterfront is blessed to have one of the most beautiful locations to dine out at…that’s the last PRO comment. I went to TWF with my husband for a special occasion, we both enjoy fish dishes and being near the sea, so It made sense to go there. We ordered some fish dishes, when the food arrived, the presentation was impressive but the taste was meh. The meals all seemed as if they had been microwaved just before being sent out. Here was the final straw - since the food wasn’t amazing, we left a far bit, we waited over 30mins for a waitress to remove our plates, we asked 2 more times for someone to remove them and were always told “sure let me just do something” then seeing the same waitress cackling away with another waitress in the main room. Got to a point where I waved over to them and asked for the bill. SUDDENLY she was free… I’ve worked as a waitress and understand how busy and stressful it can be running around but the waiters at TWF are rubbish, they don’t care about good service and it shows. The gag was that even as we paid at the table, the plates were still there not being moved. I wanted to try a dessert but that feeling changed after waiting over 30mins. As I mentioned at the beginning, I’ve heard from others how the staff at TWF are shockingly bad, apparently the manager as well (not from my experience but from others) I love the island and can think of many amazing restaurants in the area that are doing a great job at offering beautiful atmosphere, delicious food AND great service. You won’t get all 3 of those at TWF.

Just visited for the carvery roast using a price is wight voucher two roasts for £16.95. Very impressed with our visit. Lots of meat carved for us, and an array of help yourself veg. Beef was delicious and cooked perfectly, slightly pink in the middle which you don’t often see at carveries. Roast potatoes crispy and fluffy and veg options of cauliflower cheese, red cabbage, white cabbage, green beans, sliced carrots and carrot and swede mash. Chef carving was very helpful and friendly and offered to bring my gravy to the table as we had our baby with us and I asked to use a jug, nothing was too much trouble. Considering it’s the festive period and more busy than normal, all the staff were so accommodating. The young waitresses were attentive, we also visited last night for a festive meal and it was jam packed and again great service from all staff working. I had to leave early into the festive meal and asked for my pudding to go and waitresses were helpful and polite and quickly brought it to me in a tub. So lucky that we have this as our local, and will be returning very soon.

I paid £15+ for two drinks, and it comes in plastic. Band was tuneless and depressing and the outside area smelled like landfill.

My first stop on the Isle of Wight. Absolutely cracking place. The cheapest beer I had all trip. The staff were excellent easy to chat to and very helpful. The decor (apart from the Halloween stuff) is pretty straight forward- my only little whinge would be there are a few large tables rather than lots of little ones. On the good side it makes people sit together and chat, who knows who you will meet? The Guinness was excellent
