The best restaurants in Rother South East

Top class. Was looking for a really quality restaurant, and although not always a fan of small plates, this place did it perfectly. Lovely comforting yet innovative dishes. Left feeling delighted (£80 without drinks)

The staff are brilliant and very knowledgeable about the menu, The food was brilliant in flavour and presentation, I will be happy to return again.

Food was delivered 10 minutes early which is as good as it gets really. I ordered a Pork burrito and onion rings. The burrito had no flavour at all with a tortilla wrap that was burnt. The onion rings were warm but soggy. I will definitely not be going back. Dreadful.

Website and Google specify that is open u til 9pm. When we got there was close..PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU MAKE IT CLEAR! There are people trying new places and travelling all the way from other places. Be considerate.

We recently held our Dad's wake at the George in their Beautiful upstairs function room and to say it went well is an understatement. From start to finish the booking process between us and the Anna at the George was perfect. Anna and her team they were all amazing on the day, leaving us to not worry about a thing. Thank you so so much for making a realy hard day actualy so much more bearable. Dad would have loved it thank you to All of the staff who looked after us and the chef for last minute chips for the children 😀 xx

Tall server with glasses was very brisk and rude with me when I ordered at the bar on New Year’s Eve. I then heard him calling women ‘brid’ and ‘duck’, which I thought was very unprofessional and misogynist in a work scenario. The food was great, the atmosphere was very warm, and all the other servers were amazing, especially the friendly young woman and the young man in the hat. But I was very put off after I heard him say this and didn’t want to stay in the pub any more, despite the lovely atmosphere and food. Really ruined my visit and put me off an otherwise lovely pub trip.

Great little find! We stopped in for a drink and a little bite to eat. Wasn't dissapointed staff was very friendly and welcoming. Food was really good, and we said one of the best loaded Nacho's we have had. Lovely atmosphere and done some stalking afterwards to see they have a lovely b&b upstairs which i spotted on instagram and have added to my list! Looks very chic! Would definitely come again! I had a cheese and onion omelette. Excellent battle value for money and exceedingly tasty. Took out a slice of gluten-free sponge cake. So moist, so delicious. Amazing.
