Last night, I had the absolute pleasure of experiencing a fine dining chef's table that was nothing short of extraordinary. Each course was a masterpiece—perfectly balanced flavors, stunning presentation, and innovative pairings that left us in awe. The ambiance added a magical touch, creating an intimate and luxurious atmosphere that elevated the entire evening. Chef Christian deserves every bit of praise for orchestrating such a flawless experience. His passion and artistry were evident in every bite, and his attention to detail was impeccable. It wasn't just a meal; it was an unforgettable journey of culinary delight. If you're looking for a dining experience that sets the bar impossibly high, this is it!

Absolute magic in my mouth, amazing light wrap and juicy steak. Main guy cane round to everyone and checked the food was OK, waitress was lovley. New fav stop, photos do not do it justice. Good food done well.

Una excelente experiencia constante en Meadgate. El menú del desayuno era amplio y todos elegimos algo diferente. Todo estaba servido junto y era caliente, sabroso y abundante. ¡Volveremos pronto!

Super find, Ashley super guy, food was great and so good value for money, I had cheese and tomato toastie served with a delicious salad and the tea just like we'd made it at home. Thankyou it was great

Super café with lovely staff, excellent quality coffee & hot chocolate, cakes, pastries etc plus more substantial snacks for lunch. Also a shop with quality, innovative gifts including things for children. Marvellous selection of greetings cards. Excellent stop for cyclists too and the 125 bus stops a few metres away.

Had their burger special, one with blue 'cheese' and it was very tasty. The texture of the seitan was good too. And the garlic chips were yummy. My only ask would be if one could choose to have a regular vegan brioche bun instead of the black burger bun. I found the black burger bun too salty and it really interfered with the other flavours.

Been meaning to write this for ages. ‘The butchers mate is in my opinion the best cafe in Bassett! The food is beautiful and top quality but more than anything it’s the people that work there that so obviously care about what they do that makes it. I first started going 2.5 years ago when I had just moved to bassett. I had a 3 year old and a new born and we were just coming out of lockdown. For any new mum the chance to have a cup of coffee in peace without feeling you and your kids are in the way, causing distraction or generally be a pain is a god send. The people at the butchers mate always made me feel welcome - took the time to interact with my kids and never judged when I would inevitably have two screaming kids, tantrums or a just a normal crying baby! My kids now know and love the cafe and lovingly call it the ‘beans on toast shop’. It’s great and I am very grateful! Massive shout out to Claire and the team. Xxx

Fabulous produce. Locally made sourdough bread, FAB! Eggs YUM! they tasted like eggs should. Friendly ,happy staff. A fabulous experience in a beautifull village with breath taking views.

Such a lovely lunch here. Nice hippie vibe. Delicious turmeric latte and Buddha bowl. Good healthy options for kids. Really friendly too. We’ll be back!

Adecuada inicio - grub formulada en su mejor. Era un servicio realmente bueno, una persona de nuestro grupo es alérgica al gluten. Después de mencionar a Mike todos estábamos completamente atendidos y muy feliz! La alternativa verdadera ventaja sobre la opción libre de gluten. Seguro que volveremos, delicioso

Gorgeous ice cream and lovely staff. Not over priced either for a busy tourists destination. Would recommend the sticky toffee flavour

I was very excited to find somewhere doing Poke bowls and bagels in Salisbury but sadly I won't be going back. The bagel was blue cheese, prosciutto, sundried tomatoes and rocket. It was basically all sundried tomatoes. Once I had emptied 2/3 of the tomatoes out so that I could taste something else I discovered the smidgest smidge of blue cheese spread in the thinnest of thin smears on one side of the bagel. Getting my magnifying glass out I came across a wee little bit of prosciutto. 6quid for a sundried tomato bagel! The poke bowl at least had a reasonable amount of ingredients in, just a shame it was drenched in soy sauce and that was what all ingredients tasted of. Also they don't take cash which is enough to not get me to go back anyway! With such out pf proportion ingredients in no surprise they were boasting loudly to each other how much profit they were making.

We would TOTALLY agree with the One review. A gem of a find. It has been a very long time since we have enjoyed such finger-licking (yes, we had the tiger prawns; exceptional, as were the samosas!) unpretentious, tasty, expertly prepared, top quality food, for a very reasonable price. All freshly prepared, as we waited. Met with a warm welcome, with an abundance of enthusiasm to check we were enjoying our flavoursome Portuguese fayre. Our taste buds had a full workout! Our hosts are rightfully proud of their mama’s culinary skills and the evident love and care she lavishes on her creations. The menu is simple, but powerful. We will definitely be back for more. Having found ourselves lucky enough to be back in Beaminster for a week, we knew our first stop had to be Dexters. We were welcomed back like old friends and as usual the food did not disappoint. So much so that we enjoyed 2 breakfasts, 1 lunch and 2 evening meals! Not sure I can pick a highlight but if forced it would have to be the fillet steak on our last night. Cooked to perfection and so flavoursome. If you are in the area and looking for somewhere to eat then I can’t recommend this place highly enough. Fab home cooked food at a very reasonable price with second to none service. Debbie, Paul, Kim and all the team - don’t stop what you are doing as you stand out in a very crowded market. We will be back and that’s a promise 😉 If for no other reason than we still need to try the very popular Sunday carvery.

We went to Pop on a Saturday early evening. Not from the area, we were struggling for a place to eat with 2 hungry small children. The guys at Pop welcomed us despite no reservation. The food and drink was out of site (the ribs and wings!!!!!!) and the kids were treated to an on the spot made dessert while they watched! We felt so welcome! Can't recommend highly enough. If ever in Exeter again we will be back!
