The best restaurants in Leyburn Richmondshire Yorkshire and The Humber

We dropped in after scouring the railway vintage memorabilia shop for a coffee and cakes. A very warm welcome from the staff and from the wonderful coal fire. We enjoyed the railway theme of the cafe and they have various Wensleydale Railway items for sale, such as beer and engraved glass packs. The home baking was excellent and the coffee hot and flavoursome. A good selection of snacks. It's the sort of place where everyone is relaxed and conversations with other customers start. Great to see and hear the trains going by. Seats on the platform if you want to get closer to the action.

Extremely friendly welcome with delicious homemade cakes baked by Mandy (the apple cake was scrumptious). Parking readily available and away from the busy high street. Good washrooms with easy access for visitors. Very helpful and knowledgeable volunteers run the station.

Just an outstanding place to stay! The owners think of everything and nothing is too much trouble. Luxurious yet affordable...

Food, service, venue, second to none.

Only ever been into the bar which is proper old school, cash only, limited opening hours but serves quality beers. Big shout out to Kath, who continues to run the place following the death of John. Definitely be back when next in the area with our 2 dogs.

Go there to celebrate birthdays. It's an hour but well worthwhile. Food excellent and gluten free options available

We have been here several times. Can have lunch or dinner in formal dining room. Or less formal lunches, coffee, tea, scones & cakes in the cafe. We have been to both - & never been disappointed. They do the best afternoon tea in the area (have to book in advance). Interesting to walk around the area where future auction items are on display also.

Very nice Decaf Oat Latte. Even better with extra shot.

Although the food is adequate it is rather overpriced. Nearly £4 for a fruit scone with jam! There is also a £0.10 charge for an extra plate. It has also came to my attention while visiting that staff use vaping pens where the food is prepared, which not only put me off my food but I also thought it was highly unprofessional. I have also been made aware that staff do not receive their tips and a personal acquaintance did not receive their tips their whole time of working there. I am very unhappy that the tips I left did not go to the people providing the service but instead likely into the managers back pocket.

We had an excellent meal at this restaurant last night,deciding onJerk chicken cooked by the delightful Jamaican chef, who obviously loves and is very knowledgeable about cooking freshly prepared food. There was an excellent choice of other dishes on the menu.Unfortunately we were the only diners,not surprising on a cold January evening,but it was my birthday. We couldn't help thinking that it would be more viable to only open on Fridays and weekends at this time of year,considering the cost of heating the place.Glad they were open though or we wouldn't have had th e experience! This place is well worth trying as it's a bit different-not typical 'pub food',but beautifully cooked and freshly prepared food-not just heated in a microwave as happens so often.

Their Jalfrezi is a standout with its tangy and spicy profile, perfectly complemented by fragrant Chicken Biryani or crisp Papadum.

Have come here a few times when travelling through the Dales. The Beer and food was great and the service was very welcoming. Always a good laugh with the Landlord. Would highly recommend if your passing through Leyburn

Absolutely first class curry,and large portions .

We only wanted hot drinks on a cold bank holiday Sunday on our way to the Forbidden Corner. Having left another cafe on the opposite side of the road due to a rude waitress we were pleased to find a table in this light, airy cafe. The service was a little slow but it was a busy bank holiday. We had no complaints and other people’s food looked very appetising.
