The best restaurants in Ryedale Yorkshire and The Humber

A few years since our last visit, glad to be back. Fabulous hosts, great food and a lovely traditional feel. Location is perfect for visiting Castle Howard, Helmsley and all the local places of interest.

Wow, not been for a few years as we have been travelling. Amazing, the food, the ambience, the owners, the staff, the patriots. I cannot recommend enough and cannot wait to bring all my friends. My hubby had a South African dish last night and keeps telling me how sublime it was... next time

The absolute best chinese takeaway, customer service is amazing, the food is quick and fresh and tastes delicious! The best chicken balls of my life, can’t wait to come again!

We had a lovely meal here in the village. We had a bread and olive starter, with a pizza and some prawn linguine. The food was good, and the place has a lovely atmosphere. We tried it as the only bad reviews are people not getting a table when it suits them. Book via social media and you get a table no problem. We will be back, that is for sure!

Definitely cut down on portion size small fish and chips ...fish was the same size as a fish finger very disappointed,will not visit here anymore!!!

I had a pre Christmas meal all courses were well cooked and presented, and the service was good as well.

Just had the 2nd meal since the new year here and the food was amazing. The burger was really good and peppercorn sauce is the best I've had

What a great little pub! We were visiting from down south for the weekend, and the locals made us feel so welcome. We had dinner here and the food was incredible and really reasonably priced. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures as we all dug in too quickly. Not only was the food delicious but the chef is generous with their portions too! They also explained that all their food is local produce to support the local farmers, which I thought was a nice touch. The staff were all very attentive and couldn't do enough for us. We plan to visit the area again in the summer and we will definitely be popping back to 'The Jolly Farmers'. Highly recommend!

Not far from home but for some reason our first visit. We played darts on a very good setup and drank beer. What more does a man need. 5 star service 🎯

Had dinner here, one night and we couldn't cut into the vegetables. Cheeseboard served with mouldy and well past their date, grapes. At breakfast one morning, one of the menus was covered in butter, obviously not wiped down after last being used. All 'niggles' reported and apologised for. Staff very helpful.

Lovely place really, but at the end of the day it's just ice cream.

The starters were nice particilarly the aromatic duck. The mains were a bit of a let down, we both had chow mein and they were very dry. It's the first time we've had chow mein with no sauce at all.

Warm, people and doggie friendly😊 Super menu caters for wide range of tastes including a great vegetarian/vegans😊 Food all freshly prepared and great value. Would highly recommend.
