My son Samuel will not go anywhere else, the best sausage rolls in Yorkshire. He opts for the chilli flavoured ones, in fact he's taking 6 home with him today. I've also enjoyed a marvellous full Enish in thete with the own Dan and all of his staff being so courteous. Their cakes and pastries are also first class. A must visit for travellers to Pickering.

A cold December days outside but inside the White Horse pub welcomes you with a lovely warm fire and a smiling, chatty barman . In for lunch, drinks sorted and menus provided, special board on the wall above the fire . Lovely lunch menu, great choice of hot or cold food , my daughter chose the soup and fresh salmon sandwich and I went for the Steak and Ale pie with fresh vegetables and lovely homemade chips . Plenty of parking at the rear. Lovely staff, great food, we will definitely return , All our food and drinks for £33-00 , very reasonable .

We visited the village with friends and family, went to stop at the Lavender tea rooms- wish we hadn’t! The owner was so rude and obnoxious- we were told to visit the cafe across the road because we were in a group (despite tables being free and available outside). This place obviously makes money due to their location, because it definitely is not due their manners and hospitality! Shocking.

Saw this nov/Dec 2 or 3 night stay offer and thought we would give it a try, we were not disappointed , we were in room 8 very good sized room that has a double and single bed with a good sized bathroom, the building is listed so only single glazed , the mattress could do with updating if I'm going to nit pick , the breakfast is fine , buffet style with plenty of choice , the chef cooked us scrambled egg too, very helpful staff , we had one evening meal which was ok, the real ale is as good as anywhere , the real star of the show is the location with stunning views , we were lucky enough to be there when it snowed , the village is a short walk away , hill a little steep but not too demanding , and plenty of walks nearby, thanks to Stuart and his team, and we look forward to going back.

We were holidaying in the area and called in at Malton. Alas like most old market towns it’s become down trodden and full of charity shops however amongst all that there is this little lovely cafe/coffee shop the staff are great its dog friendly and the light bite food coffee and tea are a delight a truly great spot and I highly recommend

We visited early on a Sunday evening, our second time here. A relaxed atmosphere with nice decor and lighting. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, especially our server Tom, with whom we shared a bit of banter. The pizza was tasty and hot, and the Tiramasu tasty and chilled. Will we be back? Yes definitely!

£250 for two nights! We were gifted a voucher for a special birthday! When we first entered the “host “ wasn’t happy we didn’t have a paper copy of the voucher even tho we emailed it when booking! Then put in a room that wasn’t clean and when we asked for the room to be turned round as we stayed 2 nights they literally just emptied the bin! Waiting staff sat night was lovely and couldn’t do enough! Sunday morning staff serving breakfast really didn’t want to be there and when we tried to check out we were told to leave the key on the bar! Rooms definitely need a lick of paint and a decent clean as cobwebs from every corner is not a good look! Couple of staff were lovely but they were in the minority

We popped into the Deli for a light lunch and coffee. We ordered coffees and 2 Bacon , Brie and Cranberry on toasted breadcakes. There was a bit of a wait for the food to arrive. The food looked nice and came with a side salad, but as soon as the waitress put the plate in front of my husband there was a strong smell of disinfectant or bleach, which he discovered was coming from one of the breadcakes. We alerted the waitress to this discovery and she sent the manager to our table. The manager refused to actually smell the breadcake and instead offered to repeat the order. We can only assume that the contamination came from the food preparation area. We accepted the offer and had no complaints about the repeat food. Staff friendly and helpful. Tables felt sticky
