It's like finding an oasis in a desert. This place is lovely. It's clean, quick and the food was great and reasonable. Located in the village part of Dalby Forest. Approx 3.5 mi into the woods from Thornton-le-dale. The trail is marked but recommend taking a map as well. For cars it's pretty obvious with a car park nearby. The village area is accessable for everyone. After the walk in from Thornton, this was a lovely half way stop. Very much enjoyed my wrap. Friend had sandwich, also very good. Service was spot on. Thank you

I mentioned when booking that I can only eat wheat if it's organic due to a pesticide allergy, and they very kindly used organic wheat today, I was very impressed by the kindness of that - it's not often I get to eat a yorkshire pudding when I go out, I usually just get to look on with envy. the food was delicious and the service faultless

I have always liked cooplands. However I have had some issues with food the last two times. I mentioned this in a polite way however rather than a simple apology about this the staff member was confrontational instead. I also noted from past comments about poor service on Sundays, I also noticed this. Feel this is very different to the excellent service and staffing in Pickering cooplands.

We had a really good experience here yesterday. Spent the day at Flamingo Land and chose this place for food as wanted something more substantial than burgers/hot dogs etc. Good beer and a lot of alcohol choices to have with the meal. I also thought that the drinks were good value for money for a theme park. We ordered: Mozzarella sticks Loaded fries (the chilli and cheese ones) Chilli Tacos Beef birria sandwich Kids burger and chips The portion sizes were great and the food was really tasty. Also good value for money. Loses a star as we had to ask for cutlery and then search for some ketchup. But overall, I would definitely eat here again on another visit to Flamingo land. Finn, the guy who served us was also very friendly.

2:30pm on a Tuesday, I ordered my favourite, half chicken with chips meal, lady at cash desk went to kitchen to check and came back with the bad news, they were out of stock. Out of stock! It's a large supermarket with hundreds of fresh chickens for sale, it even sells hot roast chickens freshly roasted, couldn't they get one of them. Come on Morrisons get your act together. On a plus note the cafe looked clean and tidy and the toilet was ok.

Very disappointing - this is my second visit in a few months and on both occasions I have been served by staff who looked like they would rather be anywhere else! They weren’t rude but it wasn’t exactly a friendly welcome. In their defence I did notice that the member of staff on the till was in her own and the chef himself was bringing the food out so maybe they were understaffed and two people was certainly not enough to run the cafe which was full. The coffee as usual was lovely.

Was on holiday in Pickering, I went in for a drink with my son in law. We got 2 pints of Theakston's best bitter and went to a table, when the drinks had settled, I tasted mine it did not taste like Theakston's best bitter and the colour of the beer was too dark. I asked my son in law to taste his and he agreed. I took it back to the bar and told the lady behind the bar it was not what it said on the pump clip, I received a serious tongue wagging from the lady, saying other people were drinking it and had not companied. I was not complaining that the beer was off simply that it was not as described, (for the record I have been drinking Theakston's bitter for over 50 years mostly in the pubs around Masham, so I have a very good idea what it looks and tastes like). Needless to say we drunk up and left and went to another pub in Pickering, which does know about beer.
