NOW PERMANENTLY CLOSED DOWN Gave them a couple of chances with "chicken" wrap and "Turkish special kebab" two weeks running.... On both occasions, although there was some nice looking chicken on the grill skewer in the shop, it sadly never made it into our wrap or kebab.... 😕 The meat we got was not really describable ... We could also detect a distinct "chemical" back taste also on both products.... Maybe "Pat" is short for "Pathology" or something... 🤔 Won't be calling again...

Having been ripped off royally in Cornwall I was pleased to find a genuine meal deal. I’d prefer cod but the deal was haddock so haddock it was. The food was good, the fish was fresh and the chips were tasty. The bread came buttered. We got mushy peas on the side. The servers were friendly and the food was delivered promptly. They happily took credit card payments. The cafe is comfortable and the ambiance was pleasant.

3 ladies visited the restaurant and 3 ladies were not impressed with the food, service or the over-priced drinks. The steak was inedible with a steak knife, fish and chips tasteless and chicken meal was tasteless. We put a review on their website and were instructed by the owner not to come back! Recently Sept 2024 one of the ladies received a text from a restaurant "Y Brasserie". On enquiring if this was the same restaurant a woman answered the phone and told me in a very rude manner not to ring again when I explained the above. I understand this is the wife of the owner but not sure? I asked not to be text messaged again and she rudely told me never to ring them again! The number rang twice on my phone and I have since barred the number. Don't worry Yorkshire Brasserie/Y Brasserie we have no intention of returning! I understand the owner of this restaurant in Wakefield was known in Leeds to have a similar type restaurant which I allegedly understand went bust?

Been in Mama Clucks a few times before and been overwhelmed at the quality of their food and their rum cocktails. That’s where the good news stops. It has been taken over and there is no alcohol served any more so that was disappointing. But not as much as the food and the service. My friend had the chicken curry which was bland and contained carrots and potato and a few measly pieces of chicken, full of bones which had clearly been microwaved instead of been freshly prepared. When she questioned this they called from the kitchen to say more was on its way! So why not serve more to start with? They also had no vegetarian option for me, as advertised on the board. Now run by a couple of disinterested staff who didn’t even offer extras like gravy or mayo until asked for it. Also the already small place is now full of what looks like office furniture! Grey cabinets replace seating areas and there are 4 filing cupboards along the back wall which is bizarre! . Very disappointing. It can hardly be called authentic Jamaican/Caribbean food any more and I mourn the loss of what was a great little eaterie in Wakefield. Needless to say, will not be going again 😢

Unlike poncey Leeds, Wakefield town centre is still full of small, independent, unpretentious cafes. This is our favourite, and before the pandemic, we used to travel here from Leeds regularly, mainly to get the ace vegan breakfast. We recently returned, and were so pleased that it survived the multiple lockdowns, and is still serving great food at bargain prices. There's been a change of ownership, with the super-friendly manager buying the place, and still doing a great job. She is such a lovely, friendly woman, and runs the cafe fantastically. It's been fully refurbished, and looks really nice, while still retaining the same character. There's seating outside too. They cater for all diets, and the vegan breakfast is £7, including tea or coffee - you struggle to get avocado on crumb for that in Leeds! They do some great cakes too. If you're in Wakefield, it's not far from the bus station, and definitely worth a visit. It's even worth a day out! Can't recommend this lovely cafe enough :)

Appaling,filthy dirty.tables ,floor ,5 staff,only 2 working...just enter & look up especially the left side,loads of massive cobwebs above.as for the fans ☹️.just look at the wooden shelves.completely covered in dust...god only knocks what falls into your lattes.plz hire a cleaner.....or 2....

Dropped in here as we had 45 mins between trains. Beautiful pub and friendly staff and regulars. Good real ale and wine consumed.

Ordered 2 shipyard pale ales which were awful a real bitter after taste , the manger refused to change it said there was nothing wrong with it . had there many times before .and tasted so different . Very poor managerial skills .

Malik is always happy and friendly with good service everytime I come to this location. Best subway I have been to

It's a good place to go on a weekend plenty of games and stuff but I tried going on a Tuesday, and it wasn't open like it advertised
