The best restaurants serving American food in South West

Visited as we were staying at the nearby Premier Inn. It would appear that this establishment has been closed for some time, and perhaps just reopened as exterior scruffiness matched by the interior. The staff were pleasant enough, but we breakfasted "too early" for the hot buffet to be laid out, as it ," would just get cold " but we could order. We ordered and food arrived, lukewarm, and clearly not freshly cooked. Plus no decaffeinated tea available. How much would a pack of these cost. A very poor experience.

I can see why the chain is closing down! Worsr experience at a restaurant in a very long time. Probably about 8-years ago was the next worst, the last time I visited a F&B. Quiet night (Mon) not many customer, but decided to order via the QR code as servers did not attend the table for some time. The drinks came promptly, but food did not appear, others who ordered after us got theirs. After 30 minutes, I asked a server to check on outlr food, they went away and didn't come back. 35 minutes and I spoilt the server, so enquire about the food, they say oh didn't somebody come to speak to you. Food won't be long (it already has been). 40 minutes the food arrives, cold! The server says the issue was that I used the QR code to order. The QR code on the table the sign says to use. Food was basic and pretty poor quality. Service terrible. We we're pressed for time, which I'd explained (another nearby restaurant had been upfront about a 40 min wait on food so we'd declined and gone to F&Bs), the offer of a free desert was a joke - oh I'll just stay here longer.

Smugglers haunt for an (early) Mother's Day meal! We were served by Ava who was lovely and helpful. Plus the food was tops!

Pagué casi 40 libras por mí y mi amigo por papas fritas y batidos. Ojalá hicieras más ofertas de comidas ya que los precios se vuelven locos cuando agregas pequeños extras. Great fish, friendly staff and not far from the beach so you can walk down and eat with your feet in the sand.

Do not order from here if you have Vegan/Veg requirements. Last night we ordered 2 Vegan burgers on UBER Eats, and 2 chicken burgers arrived. Innocent mistake perhaps? NO. We ordered again, 2 vegan burgers, and again 2 chicken burgers arrived. This is dreadful and disgusting. After waiting all evening for food that can't be eaten, you need to do better.

I love Miller and carter usally, and I haven’t been in a couple of years. I was really looking forward to it … my £40 steak was stone cold, along with my chips and sauce. The steak was mostly inedible. I did get it taken off the bill, however I was very disappointed. The young lady that served us was absolutely lovely about the whole situation, and couldn’t have been nicer.

We've just had a fantastic Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at the Holcombe Inn. The food is top notch, you won't find better anywhere in the country. The room was lovely, clean and very comfortable with an excellent selection of beverages with delicious cookies providing an irresistable addition. Alan & Caroline were wonderful hosts and they made our Christmas stay very enjoyable and relaxing.....even providing wonderful Christmas gifts to put the icing on our stay. Thoroughly recommended.....we will definitely be back.

I came here just after Xmas for 5 days with my partner and our two year old twins. We visited Ranchos on NYE. Anyone with two year olds knows the anxiety that comes with eating out so we really wanted somewhere relaxed, fun and delicious. We got jackpot. The food was great, the margaritas the best I’ve had but what makes this place is the staff. Everyone was wonderful but Wickey (sorry if I spelt that wrong) and Jasmine were another level. Nothing was too much effort, anxiety was non existent and just a huge congrats to Ranchos for having these two wonderful ladies. I would employ them in a heartbeat. I have just been in this place for food payed for two breakfast and two drinks £31 which is expensive but all was clean and tidy dished our food up sat down and was absolutely cold explained to the waiter that food was cold to be told o yes it’s because our counter is in front of the door which is shocking and she was told by her manager that she could not close the door also had to get her to get the bread out the toaster as the toaster was that old was jammed with the bread in there so asked for a refund and was told she don’t give refunds and to email the company poor staffing service and customer service would never go here

Me and my friend came in last Friday it was a bit busy but we were sat quickly and we had amazing service by a young girl, I believe she said her name was Lily. You could tell she was nervous but was polite and very helpful. When paying she told us it was her first time waitressing and I was shocked, what a credit to herself and bookoos!

Lovely evening spent at Hub Box in Taunton. Despite being a large table we were greeted very quickly and the food came out in great time. Everything was delicious, with empty plates all-round! A very large party had arrived upstairs, which can sometimes mean a change to the service you receive, but staff continued to be attentive when checking on our food, asking about extra drinks, desserts and paying the bill. Shout out to the chefs who were clearly very busy this evening but didn’t let their high standards drop 🤩👏👏
