We went for coffee and also had a scone, jam and cream each. The latter were superb although we were not expecting the scones to be warm (with cold cream). The coffees came in cups which were only 3/4 full, most of that was froth, being a cappuccino. Thus, one had to eke out the drink to last through eating the large scone. We'd have been better with a pot of tea perhaps. I had asked for a cafetiere but one was not available. Later I saw the waitress taking mugs of drink to other tables; these were not clearly on the menu which was a shame: I'll know next time. This has not put me off a return visit and the Sunday lunch looks interesting. Pleasant staff but not sure the music needs to be quite so loud. Gosh, I AM difficult to please!!

I wasn’t aware of CafeMonde before a friend suggested we meet up there for lunch. It’s hidden away down a little road and very rural and very pretty with great views and, if you love horses, you are in for a treat! It was a beautiful sunny day and we sat outside under the shade of a parasol. I was pleasantly surprised to see several vegan options on the menu and the food was well presented and appetising. I had the vegan hummus platter which was delicious. We all enjoyed our food. There was a good selection of drinks and some nice looking cakes (which we resisted!) Staff lovely and friendly and I will definitely return soon.

We were a group of six adults (plus dog), ages ranging from 61 to 95!! It was a beautiful evening so we booked a table in the lovely garden. A very good menu, restaurant rather than gastropub. Quite a lot of fish dishes but steak and pork too. All of us really enjoyed our meals. The food was a bit different and super quality. Portions just the right size so my husband and I had room to share a starter and a dessert without getting too full. I loved all of it - ham hock to start, monkfish with gnocchi for mains and affogato dessert (divine). I also had an Aperol Spritz to drink which I'd never had before and loved it.

Very friendly man frying and serving the food. The shop smelled of stale oil. Flies in one of the light fittings. It's really scruffy and in need of refurbishment. The food just tasted unpleasant. It will be an idea for the owners of this fish and chip shop to visit The Trawler in Daventry to see how a business of this sort could be.

The food was very good…especially the sausage and black pudding starter with a beetroot sauce. Wow. A little quiet compared to past visits. The service was good, but the toilets and ‘back-stage’ parts of the restaurant look tired and shabby.
