My dining experience was absolutely exceptional. As a former chef of many years and an avid food enthusiast, I cannot praise the evening enough. From the warm welcome and complimentary glass of sparkling wine to the delightful amuse-bouche, every detail was thoughtfully executed. The venison course, in particular, was extraordinary, though every dish was impeccable. The intimate and personalised atmosphere, coupled with the outstanding hospitality from Tim and Paul, made the evening truly memorable. I will undoubtedly return.

Such a fantastic and worthy project to save food otherwise destined for the bins. A huge variety of tasty meals, vegetables and fruit served by very friendly volunteers. Highly recommended.

RUDE! I was quite taken aback by just how rude the lady was who served me and my daughter lunch. Every request was answered with a terse ‘no!’ She had quite a bad attitude and it turned our meal quite sour. It’s a shame as all the reviews I had read spoke so highly of the place. We won’t be back.

This deli shop sells local farm produce and snacks to take away. Got our lunch and meal deal here with the hot item being a cheese and onion pasty. It was delicious and how a pasty should be. The filling is a lovely mix of mashed potato, onions and cheese. Even from the first bite, you can tell quality ingredients when into the pasty. The pastry was crisp and dry, the cheese and onion made their presence felt. The pasty has been properly filled out with mashed potato and doesn’t feel oily like cheaper pasties. A great lunch stop if you’re in Bourne.

I regularly go to The Little Teapot - it's a lovely little teashop, with homemade scones, cakes, and brownies, as well as a selection of savoury food. They also do a delightful afternoon tea, and have started doing freshly made soup. There's many types of tea available, and the coffee is really nice as well. At my most recent visit, I tried their new Hot Chocolate Bomb - the hot chocolate powder is chilled in a ball with mini marshmallows and covered in chocolate. When you pour the steamed milk on it, the ball opens and the contents start mixing - kids will love it.

We visit Belton every year, and last year, discovered this wonderful place! Tucked away in the hamlet of Welby - off the beaten track [use a Sat Nav!] is the fabulous Crown and Anchor. This is a proper country pub with the addition of it's own Smokehouse - and what and amazing addition! We visited twice this week, it was so good... The menu is extensive and varied, with a combination of tradition British pub food and their smokehouse specialities. All extremely well served, presented and tasty, not to mention the generous portions. You do not want to miss the rack of ribs [full or half - although the half is what most places call a full rack ] - be prepared to be full! And the amazing Smoking Board, consisting of Ribs, Pulled Pork and Korean Chicken - all from the smokehouse, accompanied by their hand cut chips - hot and crispy and soft inside, coleslaw, extra BBQ sauce and dressed salad. Finger bowls and extra napkins are provided and needed! Also available are a fabulous range of very different burgers - including the triple - beef, pork and chicken - oh my! Starters are available in abundance, as are desserts - but we have never had room for either - but they look fab Beers and wine selections are plentiful and varied as well as reasonably priced. Service was attentive and excellent - couldn't fault it. As I said - you do not want to miss this place - just north of Grantham. Enjoy!!

Called in for a sandwich and they were just closing up, said no problem and they allowed Millie our little Westie in too. Brought her some water and chicken which was very kind and served us our baguettes and drinks, which were delicious. No rush to close up, really good service, thank you.

We had supper here on a Saturday night while staying at a local Hotel & Spa round the corner. The atmosphere was really warm and friendly, staff were polite, knowledgeable and friendly. The place was clean, good selection of drinks behind the bar. We went for a bottle of prosecco which was very drinkable! Menu was small but food was a real treat. We started off with the soup of the day — sweet potato & coconut which was one of the nicest soups I’ve ever had! Served with a delicious homemade bread roll with poppyseed. For mains I had the wild mushroom linguine which was really delicious and well cooked. A light, creamy sauce and you could taste the different mushrooms. My partner enjoyed the steak and ale pie and everything was cooked to perfection. The pie is apparently made by a local butcher and had one of the mixes steak fillings and light, crispy crumbly pastry. We shared a pudding - pear and winter spiced berry crumble with custard. Again, very tasty! Would recommend and wish we could had booked a Sunday roast the following day but sadly already had plans!

We ate at The Castle Inn with my daughter who is coeliac. We always check in advance that places understand that cross contamination is the danger - cooking in a kitchen where there has been gluten on a surface or in a shared container. For coeliacs for example, you cannot cook chips in fat that has had any glutened batter in it. You have to have fresh fat in a cleaned fryer. We have discovered that many high end restaurants like The Ivy don't manage to offer this so it was so heartening that The Castle was meticulous about her needs. When the menu didn't offer an option she could pick, they found something different, making her cheesy mashed potato from scratch. It was delicious and we are so grateful for their kindness. We shall definitely eat here again when we're in the area.
