Absolutely gorgeous pie lunch with lovely home made chips. Huge portions! The best pie I’ve had- stuffed full of chunks of great quality chicken. Very friendly service. Would highly recommend!

Fabulous welcome and service. Food was amazing thanks so much. Will be back We had the small Cod and chips and d a regular cod and chips, mushy peas and bread and butter. Decaf tea and nice coffee.

A great value meal, quick service and good food. Lovely friendly staff work hard to ensure everything is as it should be !

Halloween party was fab with lots of games and fun for the adults and kids.Meal included at a fair admission fee too. Well done to the hosts.

The food was delicious and plentiful. The waiting staff could not have been more attentive, polite or helpful. We had a lovely evening. The only "but" is the gaudy bright pink lighting that dominates the eating area. It is so over powering and casts a fluorescent glare across the entire room. It is like staring into pink car headlights. We will come back for the first class food and service, but will try to sit at the back, with the dogs, in the darker area.

Next to our hotel dead as a dodo did not have my best tiple brandy good views but a waste of a large building.

Always had a fantastic experience with great food and service with Andrew and Alex. Unfortunately the last visit before it changes hands left me with an awful experience that will leave me with a negative memory. One of their staff was rude, pushy and plainly bullying. A long haired woman, who always seemed through various vsits create a less than positive atmosphere when left to run the cafe. Hoping she is not going to be left behind to work in the new cafe to open at the location, would not be a positive start for them. Such a shame after all the hard work by Alex and Andy and pleasure they have brought to so many people.

We were greeted immediately by friendly waiting staff who asked if we need a high chair or help with the buggy. They showed us to a table and were really helpful and patient. The sandwiches, scones and coffees we ordered were all delicious and well-priced. The manager even came over came to check that my husband didn’t want his sandwich toasted! Such a beautiful cafe with wonderful food and staff.

Called in for breakfast with friends at the weekend. Menu was as expected, providing all of the usual options. We’re quite a discerning bunch and not afraid to offer polite comment if things aren’t as expected. The first indicator of a quality breakfast is the attitude of the waiting staff. This was excellent with attention to every detail which we threw into the mix. Second indicator is the quality of sausage and bacon. No supermarket bargain basement sausage here. Full of flavour and perfectly cooked. Bacon was the same. Cooked perfectly, no white stuff from cheap vacuum packed brands which are laden with water. Presentation: served on hot plates and nicely laid out. Not slapped on the plate without any care or pride. Tea was served in a pot and was full flavour. Overall an excellent breakfast although one of us had a cup of coffee which our friend suggested could have been a bit stronger. Then again he’s a bit of a fuss pot and the staff did listen when he made polite comment about his preferred strength of brew! Definitely will return and definitely recommend.

Pleasant & interesting local roman site with a super viewing tower overlooking the site of the roman fort, at the moment the baths are closed for refurbishment so £1 discount is given on the entrance fee. The original baths are a little further across from the site where the previous ship inn public house was .. these were discovered underneath when demolished, nice museum & displays & the café food is very tasty offering hot meals & snacks also the staff are lovely .. very friendly.

Garlic bread with cheese pizza Cod n chips Meat patties are unreal 5 out of 5 worth a try peeps rag is always good to have a laugh with

I have visited Darcies a number of times now with my Nanna who might I add swears by this place. They always treat her and her friend like royalty and always go the extra mile to make sure they are both happy! All of the food there is home cooked to perfection and tastes amazing. I’ve had the Yorkshire pudding wrap multiple times and it never disappoints potions are huge and good value for money. Lisa and the rest of the staff are lovely! There’s no doubt that she knows exactly what she is doing. I will happily be returning to Darcies and can’t wait to try the chicken nuggets my nanna raves about!

Half of a famous Dickson’s pie, mushy peas, chips and gravy it doesn’t get better than this on a Friday night.

We love Hotel Chocolat and we’re excited that there was an outlet that served drinks and Ice Creams. We were not disappointed, from the service to the drinks and ice creams it was very very delicious. I had the billionaire sundae which was to die for.
