Fantastic hotel. The staff work so hard, they are extremely under staffed (people don’t want to work, I know this first hand) every single member of staff looked tired but made us feel so welcome and always smiled. We come here regularly, we got married here. It’s our favourite hotel in the world! The food is exceptional, drinks aren’t overly expensive the decor is amazing. Beds are stunning! Whats not to love? The people that are moaning have probably never worked in hospitality or retail. It’s a hard trade, one in which people Are always looking to moan for some kind of freebie! I’m a miserable hard to please person. This place is FANTASTIC!! Book asap. Don’t be narrow minded and non sympathetic. We live in times where people Dont want to work!! Special shout out to Rebecca. Wedding coordinator. Phenomenal woman!

We were drawn in by the tantalising roasts in the window and also the aroma of food wafting out of the door.We were shown to a table straightaway and had ordered the Yorkshire pudding Christened dinner plus drinks. The dining area is only large enough for about 8 tables seating either 2 or 4 people at each. The food was hot, delicious and served in a disposable box which didn’t detract from our enjoyment of the meal. However, the cutlery was wooden and presented some challenges when trying to cut the meat and roast potatoes. It was also difficult to spear the carrots with the blunt wooden fork. Would we eat there again? Yes but we shall take our own cutlery.

Visited Chesters for lunch. The staff were all pleasant, After reading through the menu decided on fish and chips [£10.95] and coke. I didn't order the small portion as I was hungry. When it was brought to the table I've never seen such a small piece of fish and queried the portion size as I thought they had brought me the small one. But they hadn't. I can only assume the small size would have been half a fish finger. On paying I noticed they were charging £2.30 for the coke. It had said on the menu £1.95. When I queried the price I was told the £1.95 was for coke on tap and I'd had a can. RIP OFF PLACE [Or plaice}. AVOID
