The best restaurants serving British food in Manchester North West

Wow what a place. Too bad it closes in a week. The DJ had worked there for 45 years.

Friendly place for some cheap food and drinks with a nice atmosphere that stems from the well preserved historical architecture. This beautiful building was originally built over a century ago as a temperance hall and it has an interesting history. Good range of food and drink options but the cheerful staff can be a bit slow to clear old plates n cutlery from the tables after the previous customers have left.

Great selection of beers, lovely interior decor and very friendly atmosphere and staff. Would recommend

As always when we are staying in the Marriott we love the walk to the romper love this place food and drinks great all the staff are lovely and remember us highly recommend we will be back

Exoensive already with prices going up!

We usually order through Deliveroo. Food always excellent and arrives hot, travels well. However, twice in past 3 months we have had items missing from order which we have then had to get refunded through Deliveroo. Each time the bag has come stapled closed with correct receipt showing missing items as being present. I’m not sure who is at fault (either item not packed or deliveroo stealing) but considering switching allegiances to another chippy which is a shame as the food is excellent and does good coeliac friendly / gluten free choices.

Not eaten here but they do a fantastic pint of cold Guinness. Bar staff were lovely and informative about the L S Lowry statue in his place where he used to sit, swapping pencil sketches for pints.

Restaurant is extremely disappointing compared to previous visits. Would definitely not recommend. Waited more than an hour for food, menu is just basic pub grub (at higher prices). Ambience with open fires is still good

The staff was kind and helpful to visitors. The food was really delicious. 👍 👍 The beer from their brewery was great. 👍 The outside seating area looks great for spring and summer. Enjoy!
