The best restaurants serving British food in Brighton and Hove South East

Delicious home cooked food with generous portions and friendly staff. Small outdoor seating area at the back, which we didn’t know about, that has a retractable roof that was open so we sat in the sunshine!

Take your dogs, shut the baby gates and relax, as they play with other doggie customers and the owners dog. let them sit on the settees, and relax too

Tuvimos una comida maravillosa en The Gingerman. Todos optamos por el menú degustación que en realidad era bastante buena relación calidad-precio por la cantidad de platos y comida que teníamos. Muy bonito, servicio amable y un ambiente acogedor en los restaurantes. Todo absolutamente excelente.

A lovely evening here : Minutes walk from Train station. Good wine list and was cosy enough to talk after lots of noisy venues . Great hosting. Recommend.

Xmas do here, great room, nice staff, good as always

Nice place. Pleasant staff. Parking an utter nightmare. But then it is Brighton.

Lovely bloke behind the jump. Decent range of drinks. Little beer garden. Plenty of screens for sport. A good place very close to all the theatres and such.

Always a solid choice. Good food. Clean, Service with a smile. A solid 4. Rumour has it that it has been bought by well know and ubiquitous pub chain - this is sad news indeed as Alcampo has been around for many years.

Great pub! Decent food, in a great location for Preston park and Fiveways area

Cake is normally fantastic but it was disappointingly dry today. Coffee was tepid. Service not as good as it used to be. Nice festive decorations. Service remains somewhat indifferent. Coffee was good.

Watch out! I bought a round in there just after 7pm 10/1/24. First round around £25 second round (different lady, did not show me the amount on screen) £44, third round (First Lady) around £25! £44 for three singles and two pints! Feeling mugged!

The hamburger was delicious. And the rest of my family had fish and chips. And they sad to me that it was amazing. The serves was also good.

A charming historic pub great for a drink as been in here before for that purpose However went today for food. After waiting over an hour for food and asked what was happening we were told the tills were down and they needed to check our order. The staff member was very pleasant and apologetic but had we not queried I wonder whether we were would still be waiting there. A further 15 minutes later we checked a further 10 minutes later it arrived. Had we been told earlier there was an issue it would have been more stars, but just being left waiting is poor. It was obvious a difficult situation for the team but it didn’t seem to be being managed by anybody and it was chaotic. Had it been communicated earlier it would have been far better.

Staff extremely friendly and food lovely. They went the extra mile to help me.
