We booked a festive menu online, but didn't get one. Not sure why. So we ordered from the standard menu. Two people ordered the liver but no liver available. Otherwise, food okay. No festive beer on tap which was a shame. This pub is not as good as it was when it was a Youngs establishment. But could be.

Went here for Saturday lunch, as it was more convenient for everyone. Sadly they had stopped doing Cod Roe (not a common thing down here) but had battered sausage and chips instead and I have to say it was really nice. Fresh chips and fresh batter on the sausage. Good Value for price. 10/10 would recommend.

A very pleasant place to able to enjoy a break. Welcoming staff with a smile, clean small independent café, nicely explained the differences in the various parts of the menu and great prompt service. Even anticipating our need for sharing. Pleasantly served by a smiling staff during a relatively busy mid-morning period. Reasonably priced but limited menu. Highly recommended.

Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We were given great, considering service. The food was delicious (we had rump steak, sea bass, squid accompanied by chips). All was served as requested. Many thanks to the team for our nice experience! We'll be back!

Another great visit to the King William IV on New Year's Day even though it was a very wet and miserable day. We were met by our new Spanish best Amiga Maria who welcomed us (again) and looked after us well and even brought us up to date on her plans, we hope that she has a great short break in Barcelona. Great atmosphere, great friendly service from all the staff and great food. The Chef even went the extra mile with a special Vegan meal for my wife when the one on the menu was not to her liking - she just doesn't like burgers in any form or indeed beetroot she has reminded me. For a change the choice of the Service Charge was worth it, we just hate having a "discretionary" one forced on us - we are happy to pay for the good service that seems to be the norm @ KWIV. .... and we got Milk Chocolate Eclairs with our bill Overall we are still struggling a bit with the increasing cost of eating out which seems to have been the case since COVID hit - but it is our choice and we are so glad to have had such a good experience yesterday. We are conscious of all the staff who have worked hard at unsociable hours over the Christmas and New Year periods - our thanks to the staff @ KWIV who did it with a smile. Be warned, we will return!! June & Maurice

I have been to the Drummond before for a Sunday Roast which has always been great. Unfortunately this Sunday the food was disappointing. The chicken was dry and hard, possibly kept under a heater too long and generally, the food was lukewarm. They were obviously very busy and understaffed which was reflected in our experience. We had already waited for our food so didn't send it back. But all left disappointed. Hopefully just a one off.

A great pub with room for all yet full of atmosphere. Excellent range of beers well kept and with a friendly smile as standard. Called at lunchtime and it was obvious that locals on shopping duty find it a haven. Spent two hours there which flew by. Toilets clean. A tad complicated to find and lots of steps but the building is extremely ancient the deeper into you go. Suggest you venture forth and discover it's theatre. All of the The Star is a must see.
