Pre booked Christmas menu. If you think about the christmas food you may have eaten in school, will be the type of food we paid good money to eat. The one slice of turkey, cut so thin, with no flavour was really disspointing. Vegetables were fine and as per the normal, hard roast potatoes and very little gravy. Those who had the beef, were very impressed and it tasted like proper meat, with texture !! Puddings wwere so small, they would have been ok for very small children. Certainly not rememberable in a good way. We were not offered hot drinks at the end, so we didnt ask.

We met friends here for lunch. It is a lovely pub. Light and airy with a lovely atmosphere and great service. The food was amazing. We had the chicken kebabs, gammon and a burger and all were great. So glad we found it, just sorry we didn’t have room for pudding!

Unwelcoming from the staff. Afternoon tea was limited to one very small pot of tea person with only 4 choices of tea. Egg mayo and salmon in tiny rolls and pureed! One delicious coronation chicken finger sandwich but then an unappetising cucumber and mint one. The rolls were tiny. Scones were nice. Cakes also tiny. People who wanted to take cakes home were provided with boxes meant for wraps. Not value for money and not the pleasant experience we had two years ago.

We had intended going here for a meal during our stay, but after visiting for drink decided it wasn’t a good choice. The menu was extremely limited as they were running down stock as they were shortly closing down as the property had been sold. The property was tired and mismatched and seemed to be frequented by local drinkers. The location near the river could have been a great place and hopefully the new owners have capitalized on this. We would certainly look in again if we were visiting the area just to see how it had changed. There is stiff competition in the area with other fine eateries and pubs

We stayed here for lunch an overnight stay and breakfast. Lunch was lovely, tasty and hit . The room we stayed in was the suite. A little rough with marked walls and a broken toilet which we mentioned when we arrived but was not fixed. There was a nice large comfortable bed. It would be good if the TV was on a wall bracket so it could be watched from the bed. Breakfast was a little disappointing. I don’t think the early morning suited our server. We asked her if there was any brown sauce, she said she would check but no update until I asked her again and the answer was no … forgetful? Toast was also forgotten about.
