The best restaurants serving British food in West Devon South West

This is a gem of a find. Beyond superb knowledge of the ciders they make. If you don't ask for the story of Lady Mary you are missing a great experience. We went on christmas eve and loved every minute of our tasting session. But by far the best thing? Getting to give Quincy tummy rubs whilst he leant against you loving every second.

Very impressed with the staff and food. They where able to cater for 15 people at less than a hours notice would recommend.

Had a wonderful lunch at The Oxenham. We have eaten here many times and keep coming back because we are never disappointed. The food was exceptional, very good value and the lovely Fran was very welcoming and could not have looked after us any better. I always have the steak because I cant get a better one anywhere else. We will return as soon as we can.

Excellent food, well presented, great choice and friendly service! Also a very pretty/attractive cafe 😍. Will be our favourite eaterie in Chagford !

Fui detenido y literalmente en viviendo el momento para un bocado ligero y nos encontramos con una cordial bienvenida. El lugar estaba a tope y después pedir del menú (creo casero comida de la cafetería) que comimos y disfrutamos y, a los parroquianos y nattering averiguar lo que estaba ocurriendo localmente. Gran loos también! Todo muy limpio y ordenado.

We are fairly local to Belstone and have popped in a few times now. Always receive very friendly service. The range of ales is good too! We booked in for Sunday roast today and definitely not disappointed! The meat was cooked to perfection and range of veg etc just delicious!! You definitely have to book here but you won’t be disappointed! We will definitely be back soon!!!

I go here practically every Friday morning for 'second breakfast' with my toddler grandson. He loves it because he can play with other children (there's a big toy box), and have a warm cheese scone which he loves. I catch up with friends and have a coffee and something delicious to eat too. Everyone is so friendly... it's a wonderful place to be.

Just finished a 5 mile walk in very cold weather. Called in The Royal Oak for a drink but was tempted by their menu. We had the Battered Fish. It was delicious and a large portion. It kept hot even though we sat outside in the sunshine. Cheerful service from the staff made this a very enjoyable time. Good scrumpy too!

We had a wonderful Sunday Lunch. The pub was packed and the food was excellent. The location is beautiful and we were made very welcome. We will definitely be returning 😊

Any pub busy on a Tuesday lunchtime is a good pub.

We had a lovely Sunday roast. I had the Lamb and my girlfriend had the pumpkin nut roast. Both tasted amazing and the portion sizes were perfect! Not too much and not too little. We also shared a treacle cake for dessert which was also delicious. Friendly staff and owners. Always nice to see them when we visit from Cornwall
