Coffee out of a machine, so no alternative for dairy free options. Would have thought a place this size could at least make real coffee. The stuff out of the machine was awful. Very disappointing

Lovely, nice sized room. Very clean and warm. Lovely big mirror, well lit to do hair and makeup. Good sized bathroom and shower. Breakfast was fine with a good selection. Good value for money, would stay again if in the area.

Terrible servicio aparte de la camarera que tomó nuestro pedido. Nos sentimos invisibles mientras el personal pasaba por delante, aunque claramente habíamos terminado nuestro primer plato y bebidas. Finalmente fui al bar a pedir un servicio que todavía era ignorado. Decidimos irnos sin postres y más bebidas. Muy decepcionado en general, ya que solía visitar regularmente hace años era un gran lugar. La comida estaba bien, pero pequeña porción de verdura.

We attended a Christmas party night event which consisted of a starter, main course, pudding together with cheese and biscuits and mince pies. Followed by tea, coffee etc. The whole meal was just superb. We also had the girl group VENUS who were just fantastic. Excellent value and the staff were wonderful and could not do enough for you. I would totally recommend it.

Visited after a long absence, it’s amazing how a once proud local pub can turn into this !!! There is not one good thing to say about it.

Great value for money. Stayed in a family room. Very clean, decor lovely, well equipped with hot beverages, biscuits, bottled water & toiletries. Tv & sitting area. Great central location, friendly helpful staff, lovely breakfast & just really good value for money. Definitely visit again if in the area. Car park next to hotel £2.50 for 24 hours.

Un consejo - ¡EVITA! Pescado congelado en su gran mayoría pescado 🤮 inaceptable y las mesas eran sombrías! Limpiamos las mesas con toallitas para bebés (después de ordenar) y estaban negras. No habría pedido si supiéramos esto entonces la comida era simplemente horrible!

Una de las mejores Wetherspoons en las que he estado, absolutamente impecablemente limpio, bien presentado, fantástico personal. Google calla, pero si te gustan las tiendas de caridad son muy buenas.

Absolutely horrendous. We were here on a private function which included a pre-ordered 3 course meal. 1230 we got there for a 1pm serving. Starter came at 1.20pm Took staff 28minutes to clear starters away. A 38 minute wait for the main course, not worth waiting for! Salmon baked hard Roast spuds awful Veg, least and carrots (imaginative) and water bound cabbage My wife asked for a sauce for the salmon only to be brought some melted butter. Never have I seen so much wasted food after a main course. Pudding not much better, custard better used to paste wallpaper I felt embarrassed for the organisers. We will never go there again

On behalf of a relative who visited yesterday. Small fish, really greasy. Trading under Thompson’s name but nowhere near the quality. Cash only which is an inconvenience. Won’t be returning.

Our experience was very disappointing. The service left a lot to be desired. It was difficult to understand the waitress as she had a mouth full of food while she took our order. She literally sprayed food as she spoke. Her attitude was not professional, in fact rather off putting. We didn't feel welcome and will not be returning. The 3 tables around us felt the same way. One lady said she felt like her food was thrown at her. However, the food was quite tasty and generous.

Congratulations are in order, officially the worst Sunday dinner we’ve ever had. Clearly a powder mix gravy and the veg on offer was ‘leeks with a dash of cabbage’, the highlight though was the steak pie, soft to the touch shortcrust pastry and what can only be described as steak mush inside it, very bland indeed. No one finished their meal.

Visited a while ago and thought would come back and bring friends- was not dissapointed. lovely food

We were visiting Sewerby House, and in need of refreshment, called in to the cafe. To say we were disappointed is probably an understatement. The cafe has a captive audience, but needs to get it`s act together. We only wanted coffee & cake, there were umpteen uncleared tables, granted it was fairly busy, but not unduly so. You order at the counter, where I was served by a young man, with zero personality, i placed our order, & then moved down, to the service are. Again another staff member with zero personality, tried to insist, I had ordered tea & hot chocolate, when my order was cappuccino & caramel latte, on production of my receipt, he finally relented. I returned to our table, my wife was beginning to think I had done a runner. I have to say, the coffee was just awful, no taste, no substance, it was so bad we left our cups, after two mouthfuls. I think they need to take a long hard look at themselves, & up their game. By the way, they charge £1.10 for a shot of syrup, in coffee, I have never paid more than 60p.
