The best restaurants serving British food in England

We went for my mums 80th birthday and even though it was cold wet and windy outside the welcome inside couldn’t have been more warm and welcoming. The staff bent over backwards to make sure that we had everything we needed, they even put up decorations that I dropped off the previous day. We had the festive afternoon tea and had a lovely pugs in blankets followed by countless sandwiches with so many fillings, followed by scones, fruit cake, mince pies and a platter of chocolates and sweets, not to mention the unlimited tea, coffee and hot chocolate!!! We were all left filling so full and was able to take a big box of left overs home with us. I really couldn’t recommend this place highly enough and will definitely return again!!! Thank you ladies for all you did to make my mums day so special!!! Xx

Thank you SO much to Luke and High Grange team for catering our wedding (110 guests). It was the most incredibly delicious food (those canapés and that salmon 🤤) and all our guests have been raving about it since - a lot of them said it’s the best wedding food they’ve ever had! Also to have Luke cooking whilst everyone was having their drinks in the sunshine was just fab. A big thank you also to the HG team for being so flexible and accommodating - appreciate not many people serving a wedding 3 course meal from a greenhouse - absolute legends. I’d also recommend their feast night - unreal food and such a beautiful setting! Lastly a shout out to Sush for being a complete lifesaver with organising the big day - couldn’t have done it without you!

OMG, this restaurant just never ever disappoints, fantastic food and beautifully presented, full of flavours and colour. Staff are wonderful, polite and attentive throughout. Sunday lunch is superb and plentiful, amazing cheese board with fab choice. Highly recommended as you will not be disappointed.

The strawberry milkshake made with real strawberries hit the spot🍓👍 and the toasted cheese and onion was the best I've tasted in a while 👍💯

Been coming to this pub for years , usually before a PNE football game . The pizzas have always been great but the new items on the menu are just fantastic . Belly pork , ribs and the potatoe tots are so tasty and everything is reasonably priced . There is now too much choice and it’s difficult to know what to have . Compliments to the chef . The beers on offer are ever changing and the staff too deserve a pat on the back . This pub is well worth a visit

We visited today, Friday lunchtime, and it was full which speaks volumes for the reputation of the restaurant and college. We ordered the carvery and Holly was brilliant carving the meat and Cameron who was our waiter looked out for us. The food was lovely, we really enjoyed our desserts of sticky toffee pudding & chocolate brownie, which were bought to us in good time. Would definitely recommend and we'll be back! Well done to all the students & staff who support them!

Visited today with my family, could not have been a more enjoyable experience. Attentive, accommodating and friendly staff. Ensured the 4 of us could sit together once another group had finished - making it much easier to keep an eye on our two little boys. Offered an easy alternative of baked beans on toast (though neither of our boys like that - think they're the only kids that don't!), but felt assured could ask for a very slight amendment to the sandwich offering for my eldest (6), we ordered our youngest (4) jam on toast which came with a selection of 4 jams! Exceeded expectations all round, expecting a loaf sized piece of lemon drizzle, when lemon cake was offered, instead it was a three layer lemon cake that was delicious, everything was really reasonably priced and delicious. Would recommend without hesitation and I don't know for sure, but it sounds like they provide some level of takeaway too, if you're looking for picnic bits. Thank you

100% recommend their breakfast amazing variety at a great price I'm not usually a breakfast person but omg the breakfast was delicious so many different options it caters for everyone you can even build your own breakfast. Great friendly service nothing is to much trouble will definitely be returning soon. Couldn't fault it, I left feeling full and ready to start my day .

Amazing! First off, the staff are so friendly. They never hesitate to answer any questions and make you feel so welcome, no matter the day/time. The decor and the atmosphere are great. I keep finding new details to admire. Love the surprise in the ladies’ loo as well! 🤫✨ The new menu is to die for! Gorgeous. I hate to admit I’ve had two burgers in the space of a week but can’t resist. This isn’t bog standard stuff - this is a menu that’s been properly thought through and they’ve thought outside the box! Unique things I haven’t seen before - super tasty. Try it all. The cocktail menu is equally fab - loads of choice and beautifully presented.

From the time we arrived till we left what an amazing restaurant and the friendliest staff ever. We were greeted by the manager and head chef. We had driven from Brighton to eat here and it certainly was worth it. The food is just beautiful and the tasting menu was explained to us every step of the way. From the beginning to the end it was just perfect. We were even given some cookies when we left for our journey home the following day. Henry and his team are just so kind polite and friendly. We took over this delightful tearoom to celebrate with my niece. It's a very pretty tearoom, which has been beautifully decorated. The afternoon tea was delicious with dainty sandwiches generously filled, lashings of tea and wonderful cakes. The poor owner had been let down and was preparing and serving everything herself. She did a brilliant job. There was plenty of food and we were even able to take sandwiches and cakes away with us. It was a very special afternoon.
