The best restaurants serving Chinese food in West Midlands

Food has always been consistently great from this place for the last year, though my orders are typically salt and chilli seasoned. The man behind the counter may lack customer service but he is quick and efficient, I go to a Chinese for fast and tasty food not a conversation so ignore the bad reviews going on about it. The man sighed down the phone when I ordered one time and my partner and I found this hilarious and hopes he gives us a laugh the next time we order for delivery. It's also in the name "chinese take-away" so I don't understand why people expect a restaurant when they arrive some people are so picky. All in all this place keeps me fed with delicious salt and chilli chips and amazingly crispy chicken so I will defend this place with my last breath.

The google page says it's open today until 10pm, but when I went there at 6pm it was all locked up and looking like it hasn't been open for a long time.

Have been a regular at this take away for a few years. But will be looking for another local Chinese after the food we had last night. Order was, Salt and chilli spareribs. What we received were a couple of normal size spareribs chopped up into small pieces with very little meat or taste. Chicken chow mien. The chow mien was the worst I have had. Processed chicken in uniform strips. Tasteless noodles and no bean sprouts. King prawn chow Mien. Again tasteless frozen prawns. Tasteless noodles and no bean sprouts. They will know who we are from the order. The food was shocking. On that bases we are out and will not be ordering again. The people that we have recommended over the years will be recommended to do the same. A Friday night treat is getting more and more expensive. So will find a place that does not rip you off by serving up very poor quality food.

Ordered a takeaway through Just eat. Arrived 20 minutes late. Sweet and Sour Chicken, egg fried rice & chips. Processed cubes of chicken were tastless, chips were a small portion for the price and the sauce was watery. £20:94 bill delivered but £2 dearer than 4 months ago for the same items. Let me know when your quality improves.

The food used to be so good here, the last order we had was terrible though, I reported to the staff who said the food has been changed due to new owners. Disappointed as this was really good and consistent before

Found this place a few months ago and loved it but tonight the food had clearly been rushed! Beef chow mein dry and had no flavour. And salt and pepper chips were plain. It was 22:20 when I ordered so they must just leave out any flavouring to get out quicker. Disappointed.

Well their Thai green has taken a nose dive. Used to be really nice, but now just full of onions and raw carrots in a very very thin watery sauce. Disappointed, from hero to zero. No longer ordering from them.

The food arrived very late. The order went through at 21:56pm and the delivery arrived almost 1 and a half hours. Not only that, the food was cold. I'm extremely disappointed with Just eat. I phoned the restaurant and they notified me the food was waiting collection for a long time. I don't think I'll be using Just eat anymore, and I still not be promoting this positively to family and friends going forward, unless this is rectified.

Came here for a birthday meal with my Father, and arrived for opening time. THe food was all fresh and warm, and of pretty good quality. Even in a pub now, a basic meal can cost almost as much as in Wing Wah's so the ability to pick and choose what you want and how much makes this really good value for money The food is still quite salty, like most chinese take away food, but at just over £2 for a good sized pot of Jasmine Tea, it didn't matter. Still find the tables are a bit too close together so private conversations aren't really possible, but that's not a major issue. Really enjoyed it and looking forward to going again soon.

I had an excellent meal from here. Food was clearly fresh and well prepared the meat was so tender. The chow mein was the best I had in Lichfield. Service is friendly and price is fair.

What a lovely experience! I booked a table for 10 people on a Monday night for a family birthday celebration. We opted for the all you can eat menu in order to be able to try a few different dishes. The staff were amazing, so helpful, friendly and efficient. The owner was very attentive, checking everything was ok and laughing and joking with us. The food was delicious and plenty of it. We didn't order more as we couldn't even manage the initial food served, for this we were offered boxes to be able to take what was left home, so I now have tonight's meal sorted.....the gift that keeps giving! I would highly recommend The Ruby restaurant and we will definitely be back soon :-)

We went party of 5 for my daughter 12th,the food was dry,well over cooked and some stuff was just to spicey for children,I also have autistic child so she ended up hardly eating anything,the oldest female memeber of staff then proceed to shout saying the kids have wasted to much food even though the bill was about to be over £100 we explained why she shouted again for a fair few people to hear that we should pay more for the 2 plates that wernt touched due to taste and spice,she then shut up when we told her to go and give it to the homeless as the bill will be paid anyway doesn't matter if we wasted food we can't eat,I still paid for it all,again like I said it was my daughters 12th so she obviously ruined the atmosphere we left after that,it's disgusting place got worse over the years and that staff memeber should not be serving specially to children,nasty women.

This place was recommended by a colleague and I have to say the service was fast very accommodating and the food was absolutely delicious. I must admit after reading the reviews I was sceptical. This place was great, it was full by the time we left.

Todos habíamos sido un montón de veces antes y cometimos un error tonto en la lectura de estas críticas antes de ir, pero todos tomamos la decisión de ir de todos modos. Me alegro de haberlo hecho. La bienvenida era cálida, la comida era fresca y abundante. ¡Estábamos llenos! Y el restaurante estaba tan ocupado, no una mesa vacía a la vista, así que no estoy seguro de que los otros críticos estaban en el mismo lugar! Fue genial y definitivamente no lo dejaré tanto tiempo para visitar de nuevo. 😊👏
