The best restaurants serving Chinese food in England

After going to the great wall for many years were dissatisfied with the service tonight, after one and a half hours (we had booked) we had only had our starter. The two waiters did their best, there were 4 tables occupied. Takeaway took preference over diners. Extremely disappointed. Wanted to speak to Amy but she wasn't available due to staff shortage.

Great portion sizes and delicious. The Honeymoon bag is highly recommended with the chips cooked and seasoned really well. The right level of spicing for me, without blowing my socks off!

Food is bland, very bland. I very pricy for bland food. Egg fried rice there was no soya sauce in it. Salt n pepper prawns? Where was the salt & pepper flavour? Special curry, just bland! Chicken balls were the only tasty things in the order. Sweet & sour sauce very runny too.

Food good but the restaurant has been cold each time we have been in to eat. You need to wrap up warm.

Found this little gem online, and booked. Traveled from Paignton, and well worth the trip. Warmly greeted on arrival, lady front of house was very attentive, nothing too much trouble, food delicious and plentiful, we started with the sharing platter, followed by Sweet & Sour chicken, Yung Chow noodles and Yung Chow fried rice. They also offer a takeaway service. Hope to return at some point when next in South Devon..

Food is nice but women on the front til has STINKING ATTITUDE felt like dragging her over the desk

This is our go to Chinese takeaway, though it does have a restaurant as well, it's great value the food is absolutely fantastic and the prices are good, give it a go if you are in the area, you won't be disappointed

Note - not sure if it makes a difference but we used the takeaway rather than the restaurant. Really, really awful food! I can’t imagine anyone enjoying it. Flavourless and greasy. We definitely won’t use again.

When i'm on holiday and stay at my friends place i always "demand" them to make sure i have a Chow mein. If possible first day i arrive. Pearl Dragon is always were we order and there are never problems. We order on the phone, always served very friendly. Food is still warm although they are about 5 miles away. I have a prawn allergy and in all those years i never been ill. Sometimes we order at a silly hour of the day and we have to wait a little bit longer (our fault). Chow mein 🥰 ... i love it. We sometimes share : you see chicken balls / sweet & sour chicken with rice / chow mein and of course to top it all off some chips.

Nice traditional music, great service from staff and the food is good in great portion sizes! Especially for the price. Cannot complain aside from being what my Chinese friends describe as being English Chinese.

The food here is generally good, service can be a little impersonal. The only downside is that they only take cash. Is that due to bank charges, or so they can decide how much to declare?

The food was good and comforting, people were really polite and the tea had a great taste. I recommend trying there home meals who are worthy to try. And the spring roll were really good.
