Pakka has been our go to for good indian food at a good price in Cambridge for years. The range and quality of dishes is excellent, the servers are incredibly kind and the ambiance is calm and cosy. Try the Vendakka and Aloo Puli or a south Indian dosa.

Disappointing. First time here in a couple of years and the food and service has taken a bad turn for the worst. Would not recommend.

Many moons back, my Indian wife and I were havering about buying a house on the Cambridge hill, waked down for a meal at what was then Cocum, subsequently Nivedyam and now Pakka - and the quality of the meal led us to set up home nearby! I should explain that I am a Professor of English Literature and Religious Studies, and my wife, one of my first research students in Cambridge, comes from a centuries-old Brahmin family of Hindu saints and scholarly pundits. Hence, when we have visitors from our Indian family or academic guests from the world over to entertain, it is vital to take them to a restaurant that represents the best of Indian (and, in particular,of Kerala cuisine. So we keep a close eye and a sensitive tongue on any change to our much-prized Cocum and I am delighted to report that two visits now to the smart re-vamped restaurant, now PAKKA, have convinced us that the upgrade is stylish (though the image of Shiva is without his flute!), the food as good as ever (I am told the kitchen staff are the same) - and the student waitresses who are from Kerala, quite as charming as the food and decor. Fuimos aquí el viernes por la noche después de nuestra horrible experiencia en el Tamarind en Teversham (ver reseña). Qué contraste - aquí en el Indish nos hicieron muy bienvenidos, el personal era muy atento, tomó nuestros pedidos y la comida llegó a tiempo y era realmente genial. Los 4 tuvimos diferentes platos y todos estaban deliciosos. También añadiría que los precios son razonables y sin cargos ocultos. ¡Volveremos!

Fish wasnt fresh, batter was oily and old. Rice were alright but absolutely bland, not even salt

We used to frequent the Curry Queen decades ago, so are thrilled that it has returned to form! We didn’t eat in, but had takeaway - portions were generous and the food was very tasty. The tandoori chicken was very juicy, and the jalfrezi and dansak were nicely spiced. We will definitely be eating here again.

Great food and impeccable service. Always enjoyed a nice curry meal here with friends.

Friendly and helpful staff, good menu and sensible prices. Always busy - popular destination. Give it a try! Parking can be tricky - allow a few minutes.

I popped in here yesterday for a lazy tea and while there was a bit of a wait, the food was well worth it. The haddock and chips were brilliant; flaky, tender fish with a nice batter, and proper chippy chips; chunky, well-cooked and not too greasy. They also have an indian menu, and the onion bhaji were amazing, they were clearly home made and had a nice spice to them. Definitely going back.
