A fabulous Christmas day, with excellent service, food and atmosphere. Staff were all friendly and very attentive, everything was done to make a special day extra special.

The Tandoori shop is a small counter at which you order food to take away; there’s no seating except a bench on which to wait for your order. You do wait (e.g., 20 minutes), which is fine because the food is made when you order. For a small takeaway place, the menu is huge: every assortment of Indian fare you could want—plus pizza. You can pick the proteins sauce, type of rice. The food is good and a good value (even if there’s more sauce than protein)—especially the naan.

Won't order again! First time I ordered they forgot my main. Tonight, I ordered for 6.05 pm and they phoned shortly after to say that it would be 20 past to half past...ok ...then I rang at 6.45 to ask where it was?? She said it wouldn't be long, no apology. It arrived in a plastic bag with a wet brown paper bag inside just after 7, I felt like it had just been forgotten about. The Korma...was ok, not the best but the Peshwari naan was disgusting, I don't think there was a gram of almond paste inside, it was dry and totally devoid of flavour. Lesson learned I'll get the car out next time and go to where I normally go.

Unfortunately this is not a proper Indian restaurant anymore but a cafe that sells Indian food, the takeaway food was really great and the service was good but if you're looking for a sit in meal then it's disappointing.

We've had many brilliant family meals here in the past but our recent family dinner was a really bad experience!!! We had a table booked for 5.30 as we had a few kids with us (1 month old, and 2,8 & 10 year olds). We weren't sat at the table until 6.20 (they held us downstairs at the entrance/bar area for this whole time). Once sat at the table our food they didn't arrive until 7.20 (the time we had hoped to leave to get the kids to bed!!). If you book a table for 5.30 you don't expect to be waiting for the table for almost an hour, and for the food to arrive almost 2 hours after arriving. Really poor management overall. The restaurant were clearly too busy, and the staff had no desire to help us out as a family with small children, despite us asking; can we order, be sat at our table, where's the food etc there was no info or effort made to make it work for us. They had just clearly over booked the tables. We highly recommend this place for the food, and if you're a party of adults, but I'd avoid this place if you're hoping for a relaxing family meal (it was raucously loud, even at 6pm!). With a heavy heart, we will sadly be avoiding this place for a while.

Absolutely the best Indian takeaway cuisine to be had in the vicinity. Truly, a hidden gem awaiting discovery by more. Despite its seemingly low-key village locus, the chef (and proprietor) Mahmood and his wife Dazleen are Indian Gastronomes of some standing and their exquisite culinary offerings never fail to reflect this. Forget other takeaways or sit-in restaurants in the neighbourhood, if it is genuinely delicious Indian fare you seek, head here with all due haste. You won't be disappointed.

Just had a takeaway.... Chicken jalfrezi . Which was the same sauce as Tandoori. The chicken was very chewy & tough, with the only heat coming from half size chillis & huge pieces of onions. Also the bahji’s were hard on the outside, not leaving very much to eat inside!!! Won’t be ordering from Wylam Tandoori again 👎
