The best restaurants serving Indian food in England

We haven't been to Tawa for a couple of years - thought it would be nice to go out for an off the cuff meal, just the two of us. First off - the food, as before, was really good and definitely a step above the norm for an Indian restaurant. However, the service while friendly was appalling - no initial service for drinks so when they did finally come we ordered drinks and meal at the same time. Starters brought out within a sensible time - but then the mains were brought out while we were still eating the starters! Ruined what was intended as a leisurely romantic meal for 2. We were in and out within an hour, despite having to wait 15 mins to order anything.

Overall nice atmosphere but the food was not spicy at all even though I requested it medium to hot spice. Which is disappointing.

I don't live in the town, but I visit it frequently. I have eaten here probably half a dozen times. Is it the best asian restaurant, I don't know, these things are always personal opinion and subjective. For my part I like it. The place is clean, the food is more than acceptable and so is the bill. The staff are professional and polite and the service is good with the staff being attentive. Would I take friends there, a definite yes. Ate there last night and had a dish I have never had before anywhere. Could have been called almlee. Had everything going for it, heat, taste and the lamb just fell apart

By far the best Indian food I've ever had in my whole entire life! Lamb is super tender and melt in your mouth. Staff are lovely and friendly. Our server for the evening was naz. Great down to earth guy, had a laugh! Will definitely be back soon!

An all round excellent restaurant.

Salí con 3 amigos para una reunión pre-navideña para un curry. Soy un pescotariano así que pedí el curry de pescado Bangla y naan que era muy sabroso y picante como había pedido. El restaurante es un poco pequeño arriba. Uno de los camareros que nos atendió parecía un poco despistado sobre bebidas y no se encontró muy amable. Los otros, sin embargo, eran realmente encantadores. Sentí que era una pena que no tuvieran cócteles! Pero aparte de eso realmente agradable. Uno de los mejores camareros ofreció pakoras de cortesía que eran muy sabrosos también!

Attentive staff, amazing food, brilliant evening!

We recommend this restaurant . Had a lovely authentic Indian meal , staff very helpful and attentive , menu good and not too expensive . Restaurant was spacious and clean . We will return when in Beverley again .

Ordered a takeaway for Christmas lunch. I messaged in advanced, then received a call to confirm my order choices. Obviously it was busy for the restaurant on Christmas Day, but our order was ready to collect on time. We ordered extra sides, and some tasty mains. Lamb Naga and Bengal Tiger prawns were outstanding! Dhal best I've tasted, and a wonderful aubergine bhaji. We have had takeaways from here before, but this was a wonderful alternative for Christmas lunch ! Thanks to the chef and staff for a great meal. I think this will become our tradition from now on 😁

As it was a Kerala restaurant, I had slightly high expectations being a south Indian. Food was okay, it lacked that punch we get from Kerala dishes. Samosa was very good 👍🏻 Service was good, not too long to wait for your dishes. The price is a little on the higher side. The atmosphere is well maintained, but there is definitely room for improvement, probably can give some more Kerala touch.

We have eaten at the restaurant and we have also had a takeaway and we have never been disappointed best Indian in Loughborough we always recommend them .
