The best restaurants serving Italian food in West Midlands

Read other reviews and was very pleasantly surprised by the standard of service from all the staff especially Cora. Food was great and neither of us could fault. It. Used Tesco vouchers without any problem.

Me and my partner went in on the off chance without booking. The restaurant was not busy at all it was around 4pm We asked for a table and we were point blank told no because we haven’t booked The man was arrogant and rude who was on the desk Terrible customer service skills

Far too expensive for too little. Large chips size of kids , over salted and under portioned. Wouldn’t recommend

Was cold and as we live 5: minutes down the road.was horrible.couldnt eat the nan bread was rock hard.. went in the bin.chicken was hard like left overs.nevwr again.vile.

Food was late and freezing because the driver went to the wrong address and failed to call my number. Phoned the restaurant and was greeted with a rude reply when I told them my food was late.

Was a little disappointed, being very honest. The food was good but did not hit the heights. Service was okay but not as warm and connecting as I’ve experienced before. Also found the acoustics difficult: it felt noisy.

there were late but they did get in touch to say which was nice rather than not telling u at all will definitely order from here again

Came for dinner. No welcome on arrival. Had to go out our way to find someone to say we had arrived. Service was slow all night, we ended up going to the bar for more drinks, if we had waited at the table we'd never have got any. Food was poor to mediocre at best. Such a shame as it's an attractive little pub, but sadly we won't be going back anytime soon.

***Review 1*** So I'm giving San Carlo a 3 out of 5 rating, which I feel is very reasonable. Let's start with the positive! The food was actually DELICIOUS!!!! The steak and oysters were to die for! The reason I'm only giving 3 stars is for the service. Now, let me say that the staff were very apologetic but it still ruined the experience slightly. Our reservation was for 7.30pm, we arrived on time as we were already in the area. The table wasn't ready so we were asked to wait at the bar. At 8.05pm we were still waiting for our table. At around 8.15pm we were seated and our order was taken. At 8.45pm we still hadn't even had any drinks. I know this seems a little harsh, but 3 out of my 4 plates were cold/raw and didn't even require cooking. There was no option to remove the service which I didn't feel was deserved. Was the food worth it, ABSOLUTELY! ***Review 2*** After having a horrendous experience at The Oyster Club we decided to walk over the road to San Carlo. I have to say against all odds, we were able to be seated immediately. The food was served waaaaay quicker this time and the restaurant itself seem to be running a lot smoother!!! Again, the food was very nice quality. The Chablis wine is delicious!!!! They've definitely redeemed themselves, which has made me edit and improve my Review. Thank you for saving my birthday meal!!!!

Popped in to get a quick lunch for the 4 of us. Ordered 2 burgers and 2 scrambled eggs on toast which came with only one piece of toast, when it used to have 2. Asked for another peice of toast for the little one. Tried a peice of this red velvet candy cane cake that looked amazing, only to find out it was so dry and didn't taste like a red velvet should. Obviously been left out for ages and not stored properly. Finally the toast arrived at the end of the meal which was completely burnt and was cut with a dirty knife as it had bits of cheese on it. Overall a very poor service. Won't be returning.

I was served by Sami and Mani (sorry if I spelt your name wrong) today and their service and was exceptional. They were so kind. The food came really quick and the presentation was amazing. I would highly recommend this place for desserts.

Italian restaurant without risotto !!! Warm food not hot Coffee severed was incorrect Then charged for something we did not have leaving the bill incorrect I rest my case possibly one of the worst experiences we have had in a long time
