The best restaurants serving Italian food in England

We wanted a nice meal driving out of central London. We were not disappointed. Even though it was a busy evening we were instantly given a lovely table for 6 and enjoyed really good food and very efficient service. Would highly recommend.

This restaurant was recommended to us from our friends as we don’t live locally. It was a great evening from the start to the end. It’s a lovely restaurant with a very attentive staff. The food was delicious, especially my tagliatelle mediterraneo. Very nice atmosphere overall and great value for money.

Having read several reviews, I'm not sure we visited the same restaurant. Frankly, I found the food to be underwhelming and overpriced. Shan't be rushing back.

What a cracking little restaurant food quality, got to be one of best in york

Despite not having exactly what we wanted (item on blackboard was not available as stated), the rest of the food was as good as always but what made this particular visit special was our waiter, Reese. So good to have somebody with a bit of an edge that has banter and fun and sarcasm etc. he is a keeper.

First time here and clearly it is a very lively and popular venue. Quality of food was excellent with generous portions. Staff were attentive and all courses arrived in a timely manner - at least up until dessert where after we seemed to become invisible as numerous staff members breezed past as we tried to order after-dinner coffee and a little later as we wanted to pay. Hopefully it was just because you were super-busy that night. Nonetheless, looking forward to coming back and trying some more of the delicious menu items!

Very simple place but real Italian food!

Everything was OK, but any restraunt that serves wine in a carafe is suspect. The wine we were served did not taste like the one we ordered, but as it wasn't in the bottle there is no way of knowing. When you pay a lot of money for wine in a restaurant, you expect to get what you ordered.

Very flavoursome food, dog friendly, can't wait to go back.

We have just had the worst experience at this restaurant. My husband took me out for a special meal, when the bill arrived, we had been charged for a bottle of Prosecco, which we did not have. Instead of the waitress recognising her mistake, she became angry and rude. We left the restaurant having to pay for the £10 bottle we had not had, feeling ripped off and determined not to return. Looking at the reviews, it seems this same waitress/ owner refutes any negative review with her own damning comments, so unprofessional. Avoid this place at all costs.

Excellent meal! And very accommodating for our large group (7 adults and 6 kids). Food was delicious.

I'd give more stars for service if I could, and that's a rare thing now! What a lovely find, not pretentious, just well prepared and presented food with a price that doesn't take the mickey. Will def come back again. Loved the garlic bread with cheese and the olives were amazing, crisp and tasty and unlike most sides of olives there were more than enough to share.

I liked the food. I thought it was a bit overpriced for the portion sizes as when I had a carbonara it didn’t fill me up.
