Amazing pizza and tacos. Lovely atmosphere and the staff are amazing. Great for kids with colouring pens and paper. Food is consistently excellent, one of my favourite places to eat

What a hidden gem! We found this tea room by chance when we were coming back from the Ickworth estate. We were greeted by a warm welcome of a real fire and friendly staff. The food was just as good. It’s all home made and cooked fresh to order so be prepared to wait, but it’s worth it. We had a club sandwich which was substantial and a broccoli and Stilton quiche. Both meals were tasty and filling which is just what we needed on a cold January afternoon. Thank you for caring about what you do!

Absolutely fantastic place for food and/or coffee. This place is run by WONDERFUL staff. The chef has a real passion for food. The Saturday night foraging menus are something to write home about. We enjoyed every single bite- Thank you

What a wonderful little cafe! We stumbled across this lovely little cafe tucked away at the back of the Natural Way Health Store in the High Street. Such a friendly place. And staff were so knowledgeable about gf options. You can eat in or out - or take away, of course. We opted for eating out and enjoyed watching the world go by. One of us enjoyed a vegan gf filled pitta with lentil crisps, the other a most delicious vegan chocolate cake. So moist! We will definitely be back!! Visit if you can!!

We chose this Pub for sentimental reasons for a family gathering and we weren’t disappointed. It’s like going back in time but in good way as this is how good local Pubs used to be. We weren’t disappointed and were able to commandeer a large area to accommodate our gathering which gave us a degree of seclusion. The food is different with baked Essex Huffers (which I didn’t know existed!) filled with a choice of home smoked meats such as brisket, pork or turkey, chicken parmigiana, Shrimp po-boy Spicy Mexican beans (vegetarian). Plus the loaded fried are scrumptious. The Staff were very accommodating and helped create a really chilled out family gathering plus it didn’t break the Bank! Would highly recommended.

Great place for lunch. Situated just behind the pub and with plenty of parking. Food was delicious and service excellent. Great value for money. Would definitely visit again.

This lovely friendly little cafe has the best cakes and the best tasting coffee I have ever had. Lovely staff. Highly recommend.

Proper pub and proper grub !! What gem !! Keep it up Colin!!

Booked a table 7pm for 3 of us. Very very slow service, only saw 2 people serving meals. Took ½hr to order a drink & didn't like being called 'guys' several times by the female server. Nothing outstanding on the menu, we had a main each. My lasagne came with garlic bread but the side salad never arrived! Had to ask for the dessert menu & get our dirty plates removed. 2 plates were removed & dessert menu was given. Very 'cakey' offerings, polenta, brownie, cake & rice pudding. No other drinks service was offered, but the server came back as another table had asked for the dessert menu & she needed to show them. We didn't bother with a sweet as it'd taken 2hrs of sitting there already! Went to the bar to pay as we'd no idea how much longer we'd be seated waiting to pay the bill. Obviously no tip was left as the menu was uninspiring & just mediocre, expensive & the lack of serving staff means we won't be returning or recommending the place to other people.

I happened to come upon this bar by chance. Iv very happy I did. It was an amazing experience. The staff and the service was great. The setting and the environment was amazing. If you are ever around Witham/Maldon, I would recommend checking the place out.

Lovely breakfast, warm and friendly

We were delighted with this place, it is small inside there are tables outside they even provide blankets, the breakfast was amazing my husband had the big breakfast and I had the mini breakfast it was absolutely gorgeous, lovely and hot. It was our wedding anniversary so we celebrated it with a wonderful cooked breakfast and we even bought some gorgeous cakes home with us the staff are very friendly and welcoming. We would highly recommend this place.

Always friendly staff and amazing food whenever you too. Typical cafe fayre, but plenty of it and cooked for you like it. Can't go wrong!!!
