This is a great family run bar, drinks are well priced and the family that own it are fantastic company, Sunday afternoon is always great in the bar with live singers from 4pm till 7pm

First visit we was on our way to another cafe but popped in here , friendly staff and welcoming, this was a very good breakfast we sat outside looking at the scenery boats etc . I had the smaller breakfast bacon ,egg, sausage ,hash browns mushrooms ,and beans cuppa tea cost £5.00 hubby had the bigger breakfast , it was cooked well tasted good , good quality bacon and sausage. Really enjoyed it . Good value . The cafe was very clean . And also the loos . Would recommend. And will be returning .

They very kindly put on an afternoon tea for my family at very short notice I couldn't fault the staff,service or food. Nothing was too much trouble,they looked after us all and made it extra special for my granddaughters who loved it. Thank you

Spend my Christmas Day and dinner at the half crown this year. I’ve been a regular customer for 20 years and this was the first time. I can honestly say the food was excellent, the value for money and service was exceptional. Tess and her team worked tirelessly for the whole day. It was a lovely day and I would recommend anyone to try Christmas or any other day at The Half Crown.

Had a friendly welcome when we went in which is nice. I had the grilled pork chop which was tough, 🙁the mash and veggies were lovely. My coke was quite flat and tasteless and not chilled enough, from a pump I'm guessing. A glass of cheap apple juice for £2.20 was a bit of a rip off in my opinion. The apple pie and custard were nice.

Pleasant spot for lunch above a furniture store. However, the goats cheese and beet salad was the size of a starter and not worth almost 16 pounds. It was truly miserly. We aren't big eaters but the salad was very small! There were a group of women near us saying exactly the same. It consisted of a few salad leaves, a small amount of chopped beetroot and a swirl of 'creamed ' goats cheese with some walnuts, Tasty but so tiny! We had to have a desert as we were hungry - which were nice - as the mains certainly didn't warrant the status of a lunch.

Popped in after shopping to get lunch. Friendly staff Nice sausage and tomato, good fried bread. Cold drink was a vit tepid and bacon was a bit hard and not that nice. Customers and one staff member expressing some very not PC comments on schools. One announced I learned nothing at school! Another said he is a nice type of gay man. Hmm
