First time yesterday with friends for a big lunch and we were all very impressed. The ambience is relaxed yet uplifting, and the plant decor is very welcoming. Every member of staff was helpful and attentive. They knew the menu including wine selections well and were spot on with recommendations. We ordered a selection of dishes and it was fantastic to have different, and of course delicious, food. Everything we ordered was just perfect, many interesting dishes, and the wine was also very spot on. Really one of the best restaurants I've been to for a long time and I look forward to returning.

This pub has a nice cozy seating area in the front as you walk in for drinks - although wine is priced a bit high at £11-16 for a large glass. In the back is the restaurant bit which has a fireplace but is a bit shabby to be honest. We had dinner and the food overall was highly disappointing - the Waldorf salad was measly and tasteless, the prawn starter just seemed to be some cooked prawns with chilli oil doused on top that made them way too spicy, and the mushroom pasta had hardly any sauce. We asked for olive oil to try and resuscitate the pasta and were told, ‘we don’t have any’. Maybe we just ordered the wrong things but don’t think we’ll be going back for the food.

Food was good but differed from online vegan option Service was horrific. Arrived on time and wasn’t shown to table for 20 minutes as other customers were still there, absolutely fine. However, at the end of our meal, we were told to vacate our table immediately as the next customers had arrived 30 early minutes for their booking.

It seems to me that this pub displays prices on their site which no longer correspond to those on their current menu and that these amounts given what we were served even on a Christmas Eve after 45 minutes of waiting are expensive and poor on the plate for 4 people we had ribs garnished with frozen fries and a 300 entrecôte??? not sure, two pints and 2 cokes for a slate of in the end after a remark to the uncommercial waiter 114 euros, I understand better why England wanted to leave Schengen. In short, no scruples and no hospitality and above all this establishment, the commercial spirit is their business. I was wrong if you want to have a good time in England don't go here to this drunken pub.

Building seems to mostly block 4G connection and the Pret wifi is dodgy too, so not a place to work

The Anglesea Arms, nestled in South Kensington, is a classic pub with an atmosphere that truly takes your breath away. The charm of its setting makes it an inviting spot to unwind and enjoy a meal. The food is a standout feature—creative, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared, showcasing a level of quality that’s hard to beat. That being said, prepare to pay on the high end of the city's price point for your meal here. Unfortunately, the drink offerings fell short of expectations during my visit. The cask ales were soured, suggesting the lines and cellar could use more attentive care. Even the cider I had was somewhat flat, which was disappointing given the overall potential of the pub. Service was courteous and informative, but the pace was noticeably slow, which detracted from an otherwise enjoyable experience. While the ambiance and food were exceptional, the issues with drinks and service left room for improvement. If you’re visiting The Anglesea Arms, I’d recommend it for the food and the setting but suggest caution when it comes to the ales (maybe try a cocktail or a bottled/canned option for beers/ciders). With some adjustments, this pub could truly shine.
