I was here with my family, 19 of us, to celebrate my 80th birthday with an afternoon tea. We pre-ordered and every one of us had a three tier cake stand full of sandwiches, cakes, scones, cream and strawberries, each one individually named. The place was opened just for us and was decorated with balloons and banners. They couldn't have done more for us. Absolutely AMAZING!

Maybe one should never return to a place and expect it to have the same magical experience that you had on previous occasions. No open log fire, no friendly’ customer comes first’ attitude. Missing items from ordered food. Noisy kids running around,( to be fair I can’t blame the management for lazy parenting) Sorry for such a poor review, this place may suit some but we won’t be back.

Qué hermoso salón de té en Quebec, Durham. Muy bien decorado, deliciosa casa - comida hecha, muy bien presentada y una buena variedad de opciones en el menú - a un precio razonable. Personal amable - una joya oculta.

Fuimos a este restaurante con la familia y las relaciones, así que había ocho o nueve. Reservamos la gran mesa redonda y disfrutamos de la experiencia. Beautiful place, atmosphere lovely, unfortunately spoilt by dirty table and floor, toilets needed attention and the staff need some customer service training. Asked for a menu to be told, "No" I asked about bacon sandwiches etc told "We have no buns" So just cakes?" I asked "Oh, there's sandwiches over there" Should have walked out but we had coffee, a sandwich and cake" Nice but disappointed overall.

Ordered caramel waffle latte and a Chelsea bun for myself, my friend ordered a vegan coffee and cake, by the time we’d picked up our cakes my friends’ vegan coffee was ready and a queue of people had formed so we took a seat and waited, and waited and waited. So having seen so many customers come in and get their drinks instantly I went back to ask for my caramel waffle latte, first of all I was told it had already gone out and the assistant was kind of trying to ignore me as she just continued with more orders, then she snapped ok I’ll make another but she continued with other orders and as the next person she called returned to the counter with a coffee she’d had some time and been drinking, the Starbucks assistant took her cup and tried to pass it to me saying it must be mine! I was horrified and said I don’t want someone else’s coffee, it’s already been partially consumed and handled by another customer so not hygienic but also we’re in the middle of a pandemic. She made me wait a while then passed a cup, looking nothing like the caramel waffle latte on the posters and not knowing if she’d topped up the other cup I retired to the table where my friend had finished her coffee & cake alone, so I ate my then sad dry bun and as I was leaving spoke to a supervisor about the lack of customer service, care and food hygiene safety. I asked for the branch number snd name as I wanted to put in an official complaint but was told the web address would find them, the assistant would be spoken to about making me wait and given a card for a free drink. I’ve mailed the complaints department but 10 days later not heard a thing - we won’t be visiting starbucks anytime soon, I don’t think it’s safe!!!

Ordered online and due to a just eat mistake our order wasn't originally delivered. The stagg went out of their way to correct the mistake, cooking the order fresh and delivering after close. Fantastic service, would give an dctra star if able!

Placed an order for delivery. The food was delivered over 30 minutes late. The food itself was horrible. The steak cheeseburger had little meat, the chips were soggy. The "beef" roast dinner was atrocious, it came dry with no gravy, the roast potatoes and the Yorkshire pudding were soggy, the beef wasn't proper beef it was sliced beef like the type you would buy in a packet from the shop. Wasn't impressed, won't order again.

No sé quién ama este lugar más mi perro o yo. Viajamos de Grecia cada año al norte - este y este es su lugar favorito. Paseos antes o después de la comida y una salchicha gratis para ella. El fuego siempre está encendido y es realmente acogedor y auténtico campo británico. Visited Durham recently and ate here twice. Excellent food and tremendous value unlike most other eateries. Well worth a visit.

Peri peri chicken was lovely and spicy. Good to have an peri peri option in the area. Communication could be better. Price and portion good.

Met up with some mates in Stanley before starting our road trip down to Dover then Calais, they were already tucking into some breakfast goodies, so I opted for a Full English and a coffee for myself, just to be sociable. Reading through some of these reviews and I’m wondering if I was in the same place? I found the staff were very attentive, polite and friendly, the breakfast beautifully cooked, well presented and substantial, the coffee excellent. Shamrock Bar in Stanley is a decent little cafe that serves decent food, I’m more than happy to recommend.

The bands who are booked at this pub are usually pretty amazing. As a big fan of live music, I can honestly say most of the bands I have seen at the Bay Horse have been rather brilliant. There is always a good atmosphere at the Horse, and the people and bar staff are really friendly. They all work very hard to keep the place going and make great choices with the bands they book. I've not really been disappointed yet and have been going there since maybe mid last year. Shame its not a bit bigger, but then it might lose some atmosphere if it was. New years day was amazing, as was boxing day. I've not had such a great time for years as last Christmas. Thanks to all the staff for making things work in the way you do. Keep up the good work.
