Great place for a breakfast with fried bread and a mug of tea. The staff are great and although it was busy the service was good.

Discovered the Hidden Garden over a year ago now and it’s one of my favourite places to go. Great coffee (no additional charges for milk alternatives), beautiful views and dog friendly! The little treats they serve your dog are an added bonus (no charge either!) my pooch loves a visit. We have been in all weathers, although most of the seating area is outside there are some wonderful covered nooks to curl up with blankets galore and even a pizza stove burning logs to keep you warm in the winter. The cakes and food are delicious and the additional pop up food stalls they host are brilliant. Highly recommend for a cosy catch up away from the high street bustle.

I walk past this cafe a lot and thought this day I would call in for a coffee to go. When I walked in the staff ignored me. I had to ask the guy stood at the counter if everything was on which he replied "of course" in a rude manor. He still did not ask what I wanted so I just ask for my coffee to go. He tutted then turned his back on me. He then just held the contactless card machine up to pay. Still no thank you or anything. No even telling me the price. He then turned his back on me again. I was given my coffee again with no acknowledgement at all. I left feeling disgusted. I will never ever go here again. The staff were snobby stuck up and ungrateful. The management needs to sort this because having told my friends a few have said that it happened them.

Now that was a pie. Individual hand raised pie with ox cheek and game filling. A wonderful pie, one of the best I have ever tasted. Rammed full of delicate and flavoursome meat and moist with gravy. The pastry was exceptional, thin, short, and crusty and full of flavour. A 5 ⭐️ pie in a 5 ⭐️ pub. Hopefully they will put this on the regular menu. The accompanying mustard mash was buttery and piquant with just the right amount of grain mustard that helped but through the richness of the meal. Perfectly cooked spring greens( Cavalo Nero, cabbage and broccoli), finished off an amazing plate of food.

Comfortable. Very much a locals pub. Good beer. Went for Sunday lunch. Very limited menu. 2 choices for starter, choice of beef or turkey. No vegetarian/vegan option. The alternative to the meat lunch was fish and chips. The meats were okay. The gravy was minty but already poured on the meat and vegetables so no choice. Sprouts and carrots over cooked. Roast potatoes were dry and leathery instead of crispy. Can't say I'd recommend the Sunday lunch.

We have always loved eating at the Horton(been going for years)but our last experience was very disappointing.the chilli came in 3 small dishes, meat, rice and nachos,(not one large bowl as previously served in the pub)didn’t fill us up at all and not worth £15.on the plus side the waitress was superb and the pub is lovely.will need to here good reports before we eat there again

Good night out was had. Busy for a Friday but may have been due to Christmas period. Staff worked hard and served as fast as they could. Beer choices not the best but was cold and drinkable.

Really enjoyed our meal here. It was our first time visiting this cafe, but I have to say it won’t be our last. I have absolutely no complaints. The staff were professional, efficient and friendly. The food and drinks were exceptional and the hygiene was excellent. The place had a lovely atmosphere and you felt welcomed and not rushed. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the food provided. And the menu provides something different to the other cafes in the village.

We visited today for the first time with family. We received a warm welcome and the man who showed us to our table was so friendly, made an extra effort by chatting to our children. The food was delicious, we all had the Sunday carvery, lovely fresh food, none of it dry like you get at other carveries. Lovely decor in the pub, we will definitely be back!

Booked for Christmas dinner for the family . Told to arive at 1pm at 2.30. Still hadn’t received our starter. When the food did arive it was dreadful cold. Uncooked turkey red in some parts. Veg under cooked. Could hardly chew the parsnips. 4.15. Still no pudding Left at 4.45 without having desert as everyone was. Fed up And at £80 per adult & £ 40 for children was an absolute rip off wouldn’t go again
