Any time i go to York, I always come in for a pint.

Quite simply THE BEST BREAKFAST IVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE! I am a 56 year old vegetarian and the vegetarian breakfast was absolutely outstanding. Every single element was cooked to perfection and complemented each other.

An excellent vegan and vegetarian cafe.The 4 of us are a mixture of vegan and non-vegans. The food is fantastic. We can recommend the Goji vegan brunch and we went back later for the vegan and vegetarian strawberry cream tea. The fruit scones were better than non-vegan ones - so light, fluffy and super tasty. Will definitely revisit.

Fantastic little coffee shop over the Walmgate Bar. Great Christmas coffee, fantastic staff and great atmosphere.

Great quirky cafe on 3 floors. Coffee and cakes were fab, also I have to eat dairy free, there were several options available (without having to ask which has become my pet hate). The staff are really friendly, shame we didn't visit sooner as we are local, we will be back to make up for lost time!

Stopped here for a quick brunch with my boyfriend and wow if i could come here everyday i absolutely would, the staff were so friendly attentive and the food was amazing ! Best breakfast ever

My favourite bar in York! Love this place, especially the open mic on a Wednesday and the solo gig nights! It's dog friendly. The atmosphere and vibe is chilled and cosy. The owner is so lovely and professional and works so hard. I have met so many people from coming here on a weds, it's so wholesome. You won't be lonely when you come here. I first came here on my own but now I have some new friends and I've introduced friends to this place. Everyone is so nice that comes here and not to mention very talented. The seats are really comfy, and the drinks are fab. There's no 'slug and lettuce' about it, plus there's options for everyone, ranging from hot drinks to beer to cocktails. They have a nibbles menu with the addition of crisps, cakes, and Ferrero rocher chocolates, which I have never seen in a bar before. It's just the one. This place has got everything right, I hope one day it can expand because there is no place like it. Thank you so much, Sam, and the rest of the staff and to JP who hosts the open mic. Cracking little cafe! The food is excellent and sourced from local butchers etc. Very friendly, professional and efficient staff. Would recommend the breakfast which was delicious and the coffee was lush and piping hot. Will definitely be back again.

A nice place but can get pretty noisy when busy. Coffee, tea, porridge and fried breakfasts both good and staff and service friendly and quick. A bit pricey but so are most places in York

Freakin' AMAZING. The Dick Turpin is one sensational sandwich. The depth of flavour from the spice and smoke in the meat is really something special. Massively recommended... TRY ONE NOW.

The best eggs Benedict I’ve ever tasted. Fried egg on toast also good. Highly recommend. Takes a little time but worth the wait.

Lovely cosy pub with a good drink selection and friendly staff, the kids menu was an excellent value and the ice cream was the size of my kids head! Delicious Sunday roast with lashings of thick gravy, although sadly no parsnips.

The Breakfast at the Blue Barbakan is excellent. My wife had the American Pancakes and absolutely enjoyed it. I had the Buckwheat Pancakes with the Polish Sausage which was unique and the mustard based sauce was mild and flavourful. We first went here a couple of years ago and can confirm the quality has never dropped and the staff are extremely friendly and attentive.

Source saved an almost ruined birthday. We visited York for my birthday and the hotel we were staying at really messed up and there was nowhere local to eat! We had to make last minute plans on a Saturday night so we were so worried. We rang up Source and asked if we could squeeze in and they were so attentive and got us booked in. On arrival they made sure the seating was ok for us and it was such a lovely atmopshere, and the food was amazing. It was so good that we returned in the morning for breakfast!

Great place. Good beer, nice atmosphere and proper pub surroundings.
