Walked in lovely chap greeted us with some light hearted banter .. ordered the food all cooked fresh in front of us got back to our lodge still piping hot and I’ll be honest I looked at the chips and thought these look nothing like my local chippy in the midlands . But in all honesty they was 10 times better fish Chucky and full of flavour roe fresh as you can get pies are amazing great chippy loved it would definitely go again and again

Absolutely the best fish & chips I’ve ever had! Fish & chips used to be a “once in a while” thing for us, but since moving here & treating ourselves on the night we moved in, we’ve treated ourselves every week for the past 6 weeks! They aren’t greasy like some. Perfect portion size too. Everything is just spot on perfect. Thank you Taffs x

We revisited The Crab to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday with our two adult children . I had pre booked over a week ago and added to the booking that we were celebrating his special birthday. On arrival we had a choice of two tables when we arrived which was good as my husband struggles with loud background music so we were seated away from the pianist (who is amazingly talented) this meant we could enjoy the ambiance and the music more. We had to ask for the wine menu and then waited over 20 minutes for someone to come and take our drink/food order. Food was great - we had calamari, mussels, hake, halibut and crab between us. Great atmosphere in the restaurant. Slightly disappointed as no one mentioned my husbands birthday so at the end of the evening I had to go up to ask the waitress at the bar if the restaurant did anything special for a celebration. She said yes and would arrange something. A plate was brought out with a happy birthday message, some fruit and the tiniest brownie....such a shame as I had to ask for it!

We visited a couple of times during our weeks holiday for the New Year celebrations. Both times we had a wonderful experience, nothing is too much for the guys that work here, they are so attentive. We loved our food and cocktails, even tried a couple of cheeky rums but not the ones from the Queens private collection (they were about £50 a shot). The place has a fantastic buzz about it and you are made to feel very welcome, even when they are extremely busy they will do their upmost to facilitate you.

We visited for lunch today and we were really happy! It was all freshly cooked and the quality of the fish was great, it wasn’t grey it was white and tasty and delicious. I had a kids fish and chips, my partner an adult portion with a side of curry sauce and mushy peas. All hot, reasonably priced and good service. A great local find.

This is one of best fish and chips in the area. The cod is superior, perfectly cooked and a fresh, light, crispy batter. There are 2 other places nearer to me, Liliput and Penn Hill but this place is so much better and doesn’t have the long wait times like the others.

Used to like this place but getting fed up of being served lukewarm fish and chips that has clearly been fried some time earlier and has been sat there getting cold waiting for someone to order it. With the batter being on the thick side if it’s not served and eaten straight out of the fryer it goes all mushy, cold and is rather unpleasant. Best waiting a few minutes for freshly cooked food, but that is not how it works here.
