Perfect fish & chips these best in Notts!!

never ordered again. late 45 minutes ,try to call to restaurant wrong number. food is cold.Kids is hungry...

Many of the items had dried out badly on display . Southern fried chicken poor size compared to before. Standard fish was so small thought it was Mini fish but realised it was'nt. Overal , expensive & not worth it .

Chips cold, fish red hot, regular haddock is tiny, the lady serving had a bad cough and then litterly picked up the chicken with her bare an served it, WILL NOT BE USING AGAIN

Chips where burnt and soggy, the kabab meat was cold. Sausage dinner was vile

Only went for a drink but it was a little disappointing inside. Although I am sure it is much nicer in the summer. Ordered a cocktail which wasn’t good but the wine was fine, as was the beer. The staff were great but the seating and surroundings were low key and a bit too simple, for the price of the drinks and food.

Not the first time we have been here and won't be the last, drinks and food are always fresh, tasty and portions are sensible. This time it was a simple latte, bacon butty and a portion of cheesy chips. The butty was 3 good size bits of bacon in a soft brioche bun, I'm not usually a fan of brioche buns but this was great. The chips were 'fries' with a good quantity of cheese. The only thing that lets the place down are the starlings, yes of the feathered variety, there's loads of them and they are quite brash. I'm sure there used to be a tame bird of prey of some sort that kept them at bay but it wasn't in evidence this time.

I would recommend anyone who loves there fish & chips to try this place. They always make fresh so be prepared to wait a little

Had a lovely gluten free fish and chip meal with a scallop. The chips were very tasty, crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. The fish was well cooked, it was great to have a scallop as I haven't had a gluten free one. The lady who served us was very nice. Portion was generous.

Bought a tray of chips, arrived home to find a tray of scraps, so disappointed, and now they have lost a customer if that's what my hard earned money gets me. I changed my chip shop to village chippy because of the above and they are very good, but required chips tonight (Monday) however they are closed, went back to John Dory and watched what I was given, different girl serving but lovely chips, back to the standards I'm used to from them, even although a little less chips there's still sufficient for 2 people, excellent.

Very nice and good value for the money you pay

I come here quite frequently but I must say when I came in tonight, I was disappointed to say the least. Don’t get me wrong the food here is lovely but the atmosphere is atrocious. There were 2 young children running around occasionally bashing into things and who I assume were related to the owner and on top of that one of the workers threw a pencil at the other worker’s head. The food came quite quickly but I must say I was definitely disappointed with the atmosphere tonight as it is extremely unprofessional.
