The best restaurants in Braintree East of England

The food was very tasty. Such a shame it took 1 hour 20 minutes to be delivered and when it arrived one of the dishes was missing. We were told the missing dish would come in 20 minutes but after 50 minutes and two calls to the restaurant it still didn't arrive. This was our first time trying this restaurant and it's a real shame as the food was really nice, but the service was not.

We had a fab lunch here with friends and our children. Food, drink and service was great and the pub is cosy and comfortable. Thanks very much!

A Greg’s that doesn’t want to take money the seating area seams to close very early 2-3 pm and lately quite often half of it closed for cleaning for a long time , you never see a dirty McDonald’s and never area closed of they work around you, pity there’s not one nearby. A disgrace to Greggs.

I've happily used this place now for around 15 years. Now, don't get me wrong, it isn't always perfect, but if anything is ever wrong, it's rectified quickly without fuss. I usually prefer the mixed chicken and kebab combination. It's a very good portion and tastes fantastic. Occasionally, the bag has a lot of grease, but you don't get a fried takeaway for the healthy salad option! Staff are always polite and friendly and extremely professional throughout.

We haven’t had a takeaway for 3 years now. Fancied a Chinese tonight and we always used Masefield Road before. So decided to order from them again. It was absolutely gorgeous, delivered hot, everything was cooked perfect. Enjoyed every bit and price still very good value for money. Would highly recommend to anyone. A big thank you to all the staff and we will definitely be back again.

Lovely location. But the friendly welcome and serve was outstanding. Great menu choice and light bites specially. Homemade and tasted so nice. We had turkey and stuffing roll with dipping gravy and the sausage rolls. Will be going back.

Was recommended by friends for a family lunch and didn’t disappoint. We both had classic burgers with rosemary fries and potato puffs to share. Can’t wait to come back and try a different burger from the menu.

Popped in for a pint whilst in Rayne. Just the one cask ale, but a really well kept 1555. Spotted the menu and decided on food. Food was delicious, clearly homemade and very reasonably priced. Televisions showing sport were unobtrusive and the staff were polite and friendly. A really nice pub.
