The best restaurants in Lansdown Cheltenham South West

Our first visit to Lumiere and the food was superb, with a delicate blend of flavours. We particularly enjoyed the smoked eel and the duck and the presentation of every course was beautifully executed. Unfortunately however, the ambience and service were all somewhat underwhelming. Granted, the evening didn’t start well. Having said that I would probably order a G&T at some point, it was a surprise when one arrived without asking which gin I would like. I politely declined and said that I preferred a flavoured one, expecting that the drinks menu, given to the adjacent table would be offered. Instead a second G&T was served, again without explaining the varieties available. It seems that the message given to the gentleman on bar service was that I asked for a fruit based gin, not flavoured as I had requested, so he chose the only fruit based one served. This seemed to set the tone for the evening, where the service was friendly and polite but not as polished as in other Michelin starred restaurants we have visited.

I'm ordering from them regularly and that's the only place that never fails me through years!! In delivery most important aspects for me is food being hot and fresh from proper pizza and past is always a case!! Sometimes asking them to add more chillies for example and is always there👌 Me favourite is taco fries 😋 if someone like kind of loaded fries. That's must try.. highly recommended. Keep doing good job proper pizza and pasta

Had an excellent lunch here, the food was absolutely delicious, very friendly service with food suggestions and great value for the quality of the food. Highly recommend.

I think one should beware of the words like "contemporary" and "sharing plates". That can mean low culinary input and high margins with a great deal of "serve it when you can" convenience afforded to the restaurant. The bread basket was a shocker. A slim paratha cut up and dropped into an ornate receptacle for, I think, £7. It might have been borderline acceptable if it hadn't arrived last of the dishes, served one by one at the table. Prices were simply too high for ok-ish extremely economical sharing plates. I guess you could share them if you have a generous spirit and deep pockets. 3 stars because the staff were friendly. This is plainly a family business, but they should try a little harder.

Great Japanese / Korean resteraunt. We had the Korean BBQ, which was delicious, but a little pricey.

The foods are good!! The wine also good! The service good! But the price a bit high! The portion of the food a bit small!

This is a gem of a place, the food is delicious and beautifully served and presented. We had a theatre date, so they speeded up our meal! Such good value. This is my second visit and for both lunch and supper this is an excellent find. My meal is not listed below. I can recommend the Moule and the rump steak (I had blue to rare) was cooked to perfection

Great coffee whenever I visit. The flat whites are superb! Love popping in for a takeaway coffee whenever I'm nearby.
