The best restaurants in Lansdown Cheltenham South West

As others mentioned staff were not friendly and seemed to be mocking customers in the side room. I ordered the three soft tacos and they came in a very small box which meant you couldnt pick up each individual taco. The corn bread was so thin that the tacos completely fell apart and I ended up needing to eat everything with a fork like it was a salad. The food was extremely bland despite getting the medium spiced salsa. Definitely wouldnt return unfortunately!

The place was severely understaffed in my opinion. Hence the low score. Well located pub. With more staff the pub could be very good I think. Was also a bit cold.

A really lovely evening with absolutely lovely, very accommodating staff…neither of us had had Sri Lankan food before and it was authentic, fresh and delicious….clean plates all round. I can’t recommend the prawns enough!!! The menu seemed limited at first glance but it was more than adequate in hindsight (a relief not to be bombarded with too much choice for a change). Great meal and excellent service. Lovely setting in the garden room. Pity there was noone else eating at the time but the staff made up for it

We visited last week whilst staying in Cheltenham. We booked last minute for 20 people, they accommodated us without any complaints. Due to an event that was late we didn’t arrive until 8:45. The staff were amazing with no complaints about our punctuality. The food was out and was fantastic. 20 satisfied chaps, I would 100% recommend this to anyone.

My wife thought the world of this place always enjoyed the food and the service also the excellent service from the staff and owner's best wishes for the future

A Lovely Spot for Coffee or a Pint I visit every now and then for a coffee catch-up or a pint with a dear friend, and it’s always a pleasure. Very welcoming with a great atmosphere, this place is a gem in Montpellier. They serve good coffee and have an excellent selection of alcoholic drinks.

The pizza was absolutely delicious but unfortunately we were sat at our table for about 30minutes before we even got asked if we wanted a drink? The restaurant was not even busy with many vacant tables so not sure what happened there? The Women who did eventually serve us was extremely warm & welcoming & friendly. Due to the long wait before getting served meant we had to rush our food & could not have desert as we had to be at the cinema afterwards which was a shame & we were looking forward to trying the Tiramisu. Would try again as pizza was incredible but would be put off if the service was the same as before.

This place is just brilliant, I see that others have commented on the prices, if you are only interested in the price go to Weatherspoon's!! John Gordon's is a great experience, a lovely atmosphere, friendly and highly informed staff who will guide through the extraordinary range of drinks, If you are in Cheltenham and you miss it - big mistake!!

I had an A-1 experience—a date my fiancée and I will never forget in a hurry! The staffs were so cordial (Clara is a star). The pianist playing our chosen love song created the perfect romantic atmosphere! Food was extraordinaire.

We had a very,good experience at this restaurant with friends on our second night in Cheltenham.The Soho bar were very welcoming and offered a good menu and drinks choice.The staff were very professional and looked after us throughout our stay.It was very much pub food but very tasty .
