Very posh venue, visited for a party and the set up was lovely and very modern and the food was very good and the atmosphere was amazing. Staff were helpful too

Some of the worst fish and chips we have tasted. The fish batter was rubbery. The chips were anemic and soggy and overall the whole meal was very greasy.

People and service were excellent (decor and ambience not so much!) but the food I would rate as below average, for the price that is. £8.80 gets you a not so great version of a full English with just one sausage that is just slightly above a cheap sausage, no hash browns included (pay extra), and (thankfully) no black pudding. The owners need to go visit some other breakfast cafes even supermarkets or Dunelm Pine, or cafe 3 in Heworth, York (eggs Benedict for cheaper), to see what their competition is. If they just bought Asda sausages (6 in a pack) and slapped in some hash browns for that price they’d have elevated their game massively, and maybe grill half a tomato instead of serving mushed up boiled chopped tomato? Would love to eat there regularly if they levelled up. Will be going back to try other things. So this review is based on one trip and a full English.

We thoroughly enjoyed dining here. Our dinners of curry and beef stroganoff were delicious, with ample portions. The lobster/shrimp salad starter was great! Very friendly staff. Nice bar and setting. Our cocktails and wine were very good.

Ice cream can be enjoyed any time of the year! On Christmas Eve, I got a tub of Baileys Cheesecake gelato…how festive! And yes- it did taste of Baileys!

Wow, blown away...I had the pork fillet wrapped in bacon with black pudding mash and veg...so tasty and cooked to perfection...my husband had the pie special and was just as good. What a lovely evening, warm , friendly and dog friendly a bonus.. look forward to seeing you again soon.

We sampled the Christmas dinner menu today. The meal and the service were brilliant. I had the Beef option and my wife had the Turkey pie. Good portions with extra veg if required. Everything was hot, perfectly cooked and very tasty. We will be back! Thank you.

Stayed at The Plough Inn Chinese & Hotel for our 4th stay in August 2024. Absolutely first class every time. The host is the friendliest lady you could ever wish to meet. Nothing is ever too much trouble. The room is clean and everything you could need. Will definitely be back very soon. Thank you from Carolyn & Peter.

Myself and 35+ of my colleagues spent a wonderful afternoon at the Ferry Inn Brough on Friday 13th of December. We were allocated a lovely room for our annual Christmas drinks and we had a very nice buffet. The quality of the food was excellent with more than enough for everyone. Sarah was so fantastic, she procided us with everything we needed to setup my speaker and Karaoke gear. We enjoyed the afternoon so much, the staff behind the bar and the kitchen were so helpful and friendly. I hope that next year we can maybe get it to last a bit longer, we might just have to invite our wives, that might help. We had such a great time that we have already booked for next December's party.

My son took me to Swiss Cottage as a treat for my birthday. The food was awesome, the restaurant was warm and friendly. Jill was a pleasure. This really is a little gem in Hornsea that should be raved about a lot more.
