Popped in for a quick half and toilet break.

Just spent the weekend at this lovely pub. Nearly cancelled due to weather forecast, but so pleased we didn't. From arriving to departing, the staff were so friendly and helpful. Room was fantastic. Had breakfast and dinner on both days and couldn't fault anything. If you want a great place to stay to visit this beautiful part of the country , hook now

We enjoyed our Sunday Lunch today, 12th January, very much. However, my Roast Beef was not served pink as the folk serving and the menu stated.

Noticed today - 13th November 2024 - some work being done on the entrance - so this lovely pub may be opening again soon.

The rooms were functional, well-equipped, and clean, which is exactly what you’d hope for. However, they were quite cold, and the heaters made a clicking noise throughout the night while trying to maintain the temperature, which was a bit disruptive. On the positive side, the breakfast was lovely, the service was excellent, and the curry we had for dinner was also really nice. A few tweaks to the heating would make the stay much more comfortable, but overall, it was a good experience.

We dropped into this traditional English pub on the Saturday between Christmas and New Year, and were very impressed. Nicely busy ( but not rammed ), with a great atmosphere, and the bar staff were a definite 5 stars: professional, friendly, good banter, and also really knew their job. They were also an exercise in perpetual motion; no chance of sticky elbows in the Montpellier as every table was wiped down as soon as it was free. We were in there for not much more than an hour, but when we called in again later that night, they remembered us, and what we'd been drinking! Will definitely call in again next time we're visiting Harrogate.

Absolute gem of a place. One of the oldest establishments of its kind in the area. Tasty and quality food. Hits the spot every time. Highly recommended.

This was our 2nd visit to this beautiful venue. The original gentlemen's baths in Harrogate is a splendid example of Victorian architecture and decoration. I could spend my time just staring at it. (NOTE - no photography allowed inside!) It is also an excellent Chinese restaurant! Catered well for my Gluten free requirement, although my choices were very limited. Booking is essential at busy times.

Looked in and managed to find a good table,very pleasant member of staff took our drinks order and quickly returned with it. We had a real mixture of food all of which not only looked good but tasted delicious. Great staff, well stocked bar and wonderful food, what is not to like We will be back at the earliest opportunity Well done So

We've had a lovely stay here. Bed is very comfortable, enjoyed the cooked breakfast. Everything works, good shower and bath, clean, tidy, pleasant staff. Overall a good stay, thankyou.

What a disappointment - not been for a while. Can't believe a place can change so much. Food ok, prices ok, service ok - but such a venue needs to be so much more than ok to survive. We were the only ones in for lunch until two more people arrived as we were about to leave. Felt sorry for receptionist/ bar attendant/waitress who actually looked after us very well. Totally lacking atmosphere - but then I remember when it buzzed as The Punch Bowl Motoring Inn in the 1960s. Christmas decorations were a joke yesterday - did they run out of money after hanging the first two baubles? Now so unlike other Provenance Inns - owners/management need to get a grip. Just so much potential
