The staff are friendly and welcoming. All the food was freshly prepared and tasty. The choice of cakes made our decision difficult as they all looked so good.

Have been popping in to this 'proper' pub whenever we stay along the North York Coast. It's a great pub l'ike they used to be' with a welcoming Landlord , fire , dog friendly , chatty locals and cosy atmosphere along with proper pub grub. It's brilliant to pick up the conversation from where it was left the year before with people that remember your face (hopefully for the right reasons!). My dog is normally a great judge of a pub - and he settles in quickly here! Thanks Mark , See you next year sometime.

Very nice people but the fish and chips were very greasy and soggy! Must have caught them on an off day!! Not bad prices though.

Great little pub, lots of choice , fairly priced. Tasty food, the fish & chips were fresh and served as they should be with mushy peas . Lovely friendly staff will visit again.

We stopped to see the sun setting with a glass of wine. Lovely polite knowledgeable staff. We definitely would return here.

Went for Sunday lunch was not disappointed. Turkey dinner, scampi all delicious. The staff was absolutely lovely accomodating and so friendly. This is definitely one of our go to places.

Hope you have a healthy appetite the portions are generous. The freshly made steak pie was excellent filled with huge chunks of tender meat. The green lipped mussels were also excellent and in a beautiful garlic butter and leek sauce

We found this restaurant by complete chance as we were staying locally. We called and booked the last table late morning - for that evening for 4.45pm which seemed early, but worked well for us as we were coming with our young Grandson. Everything about this place was just right….. The food delicious and arrived as ordered promptly, the staff were really friendly and kind, and the wine list had plenty of choice, with more unusual wines which we loved. This is so much more than just a fish & chip restaurant - In fact we didn’t eat this as there is so much choice on offer! Thanks for taking care of us on a busy, rainy Saturday, we had a great time, and our Grandson was thrilled to have been given the scallop shell that the bill arrived in! We will be back again soon.

We stopped here whilst staying in Staithes for the weekend. It was a decent warm day, for November, so we sat outside watching the waves crashing outside the arbour walls. The choice of food and drink is just amazing, and the lady serving was friendly and welcoming. Our drinks and snacks were top quality and they had oat milk too. Great spot to visit and great prices too.

Sadly this hotel is now badly managed, unwelcoming atmosphere and decor. unloved and uncared for. The bare minimum being done. The hotel is not clean. All carpets around hotel not regularly clean. Dining area and bar untidy and dirty. Broken things and random items just dumped around hotel. Indoor/outdoor windows dirty. Only staff there were young waitress, young bar girl and a young cook. Noone in charge and apparently Manager away so told email Saram hotels as they unable to deal with my complaints. I would have asked for money back and left but noone to make that decision!!! Had to endure shoddy place and staff instead. Noone cares what this place looks like. My room not clean and old yellowy stains on duvet cover. Only the view from my bedroom was pleasant.

Normalmente tengo cosas buenas que decir sobre chip ahoy, pero la comida que hemos recibido esta noche era asqueroso. Dos Parmo en la papelera. Pedí un nogal americano y prácticamente no había salsa, el queso fundido no era así que correctamente grandes bultos debajo de lo que se evapora y el pollo era en sí tenía el cartílago. Mi marido pidió una normal Parmo y dijo que sabía a pescado. La salsa de ajo no era muy bueno, de hecho, apenas tenía un sabor de ajo. Completamente perdido. £15.

Lovely weekend at the Royal George. Great value for money. Good clean room with everything you need. Excellent food and drink served. Staff very good.
