The best restaurants in England

Such a lovely cafe, we followed the river walk from Lyme Regis to Uplyme & although the last section was a bit steep, it was well worth it!! We had a really warm welcome & a great lunch. I even ordered the chutney they’d served us online when I got home!! Really made our day special - highly recommend (very dog friendly too).

Visiting Halstead as a stopover before a family wedding in the local area, we arrived at lunchtime looking for somewhere to eat. A local suggested The Little Book Cafe. We both selected a breakfast as we were very hungry caterpillars or should that be Bookworms? We were not disappointed. A really genuine welcome, friendly service, excellent quality hot food and drinks. We could not have done better. Tucked away just off the main street in Halstead, opposite the Baptist Church, we would recommend this for a visit.

Whenever we visit family in Devizes, we head straight to eat here. The food is lovely, love its quirkiness and the welcome. We visited in the summer and the welcome was lukewarm, but the food itself as good as ever, delicious. We came back again today! This time no acknowledgment what so ever from the 3 staff serving. No tables free downstairs, so we went upstairs, where luckily a lady was just vacating her table. We sat down and waited! and we waited!! Eventually a girl came upstairs to deliver food to a couple. Still no acknowledgement!!! She delivered the food and walked away with an empty tray! Despite our table having dirty crockery on it! She had to walk past us to deliver the food and then pass us again with her empty tray. Needless to say we walked out!!! I honestly don’t think the 3 staff had even realised we had been in the establishment!! All we want is the man who always served us over the years back? He always made us feel welcome. Fair enough if you are busy, but please some acknowledgment.

Every dish a masterpiece of taste and visual beauty.We dined for 5 hour.Every minute was wort it. So proud to have a restaurant like this Locally.

Staff were very friendly, efficient and considerate. Service was fast. Food tasted amazing and was hot.

Nosotros tres amigos estábamos preocupados de que podría no haber mucha multitud a mediados de semana a principios de enero - ¡qué equivocados estábamos! Y pronto descubrimos por qué esta pequeña joya estaba llena. Pedimos 7 platos diferentes y cada uno estaba muy bien presentado y absolutamente delicioso. Añada a ese servicio atento pero relajado y tendrá una fórmula ganadora. Ah, y si eres descarado, y pides un negroni (no en el menú) para empezar, pueden armar uno de los mejores!

Went on a Saturday night, the service was fantastic and food was exceptionally quick. All the food was really delicious and the meats were cooked on the grill to absolute perfection!

I would give 6 stars if I could for in all categories ☺️☺️

Well what can I say breakfast was amazing couldn’t fault it was hot & we changed to tin tomatoes & fried bread with no hassles very accommodating which most places always sticking to menu…. Been to top restaurants & they won’t change or always changing for extras which I can say jasmine didn’t…. Thanks again all staff very friendly we will be back

An amazing find! Beautiful setting in the garden with the sea in the distance. The homemade scones were delicious. Highly recommend visiting this hidden gem!

Visited for tacos today and we were blown away! The tacos were out of this world and the owner was a really friendly and knowledgeable guy who is clearly passionate about what he does and it shows in his food. A real hidden gem that I would recommend anyone to visit if you want good authentic Mexican food. Ten out of ten

Fabulous place to eat! Located inside Plymouth market. I love the savoury cheese waffles which are amazing! Sweet waffles are also delicious and different options each month. The staff are lovely. Very good value. Highly recommended.

good choice and fine cuisine - wont say too much as I dont want others to block my future reservations - enough said though !
