Four of us ate lunch together following a recommendation from another friend. The food was excellent. My risotto was a delicious vegetarian option, full of interesting flavours and textures. The other three meat eaters were all impressed with their food particularly the beef cheek. Everything was well presented and service was good. The ginger pudding was the perfect finish to the meal. We will definitely be going back and will recommend to friends and family.

I went to this shop with my partner as he wanted a breakfast roll. I had no idea what to have but with the help of the fantastic lady serving I had the bestciabatta sandwich I've ever had. The bread was perfect, packed with filling. Wr also bought a slice of ginger & toffee cake. The flavours were amazing. If you have the opportunity to use this deli on your travels, you won't be disappointed. Its a small deli filled with everything from chai seeds to sausage rolls.

Fabulous beautifully prepared lunch. Homemade mushroom soup, toasted sandwich with imaginative side salad and coleslaw! Wonderful coffee. Highly recommend

Visited here for food after a lovely walk around Mam Tor. Staff are extremely rude and unwelcoming.. certainly not the yorkshire way! You're just shouted or commanded at.. no warmth or care. The food is appears to be heated/fried from frozen but it is presented well and tastes good. Puddings are fabulous. Would recommend training your staff on the ethos of customer service and "service with a smile".. it goes a long way!

unfortunately the worst food I've eaten in the last 12 months, everything fried in old burnt oil. The fish was so hard, that is, the breading was burnt with old oil from the fork, I couldn't stick it in, of course I complained. After 40 minutes they brought new fish and chips, unfortunately fried in the same old oil. The second course was no better because it was fried in the same oil. The cabernet cheese was also burnt and tasteless, for the whole thing I paid 60 f for the worst food in my life ... I don't recommend this pub to an enemy, give it a wide berth..

Our favourite pub in Castleton. Cozy and welcoming, and their food is homemade. The beef for Sunday Lunch was excellent and the braised red cabbage was almost as good as my wife's. I also had Shepard's pie on Friday, and would highly recommend it.
