Place was bouncing and great atmosphere

We stayed for a night as we were attending a wedding in the local area. The hotel was clean, breakfast was great the next day and it wasn’t badly priced at the bar either. The standard double room though was tiny and was nothing like the picture shown, we barely had a walkway round the bed. I would advise paying extra and upgrading your room.

OK if a little bit antiseptic and lacking in character. Lots of staff about but I was told the slow service a result of them being on lunch - at 12:30??

Stayed at the Manor Hotel over the road for 1 night and decided to pop in here for a couple of drinks. Has the feel of a proper local pub but the regulars and bar staff (Kieran was a great laugh and very welcoming) were all friendly and chatting away with us. It was Karaoke night with everyone getting involved having a right laugh. If you're visiting the area give this place a visit - you'll enjoy yourself!

We went for a birthday meal on Friday 10th January about 6,20 , there was 6 adults , 3 young hungry kids . Ordered food about 645 , We didn't receive our food until an hour later after making inquires where it was, the steaks were not what we had ordered , the kids meal were in complete and cold . One adults meal steak was raw , so we sent it back and she sat without food while everyone ate there food .Her meal didn't appear until the rest of us had finished our food . They were clearly under staffed and a little bit inexperienced but it was not there fault . Even though we received discount on the bill it was not what we would of liked . The person who was still waiting for her meal didn't received there meal until everyone had finished there food was the person whose birthday Meal was booked for. Poor service Poor food Poor experience

Spent Xmas day with my best mate at the white hills. Had salmon to start which was very tasty and the lamb was superb. It was a shame that I was not able to finish it but the staff were very polite and accommodating. Drinks were a decent price and I shall certainly visit again next time I am up

Looking for a different Sunday Lunch venue, I remembered reading about The STapylton Arms being taken over after a closure. A lovely cozy room awaited us and we were shown to our allocated table by a friendly member of the waiting staff. Menus perused, we opted for the Belly Pork and Brisket of Beef. Both meals promptly arrived accompanied by a selection of fresh vegetables. The meals were delicious, really tasty. My partner commented that her beef was melt in the mouth, my belly pork too was lovely. We had enough room for desserts, my choice NewYork cheesecake, my partner had the Apple Tart, again both lovely. Perhaps the only small gripe I had was there wasn’t a huge choice of selection for the Sunday Lunch menu but we also looked at the other Fayre on offer midweek and decided a revisit is a must.

A huge thanks to Trisha and the team for providing me and my family with such a lovely Sunday lunch last week! I contacted Trisha a few days ahead about a vegan option and she pulled out all the stops and made me a vegan apricot nut roast with a tomato coulis and load of veg, which was DIVINE! My family (all meat-eaters) said it was the best Sunday lunch they had had in ages! And the service was warm and friendly too! Really looking forward to sampling your food again! <3 <3

Great value, good food, very warm and freindly welcome.

Had a lovely family walk around Allensford and as it was chilly and lunch time for our toddler we looked on Google to find a pub that was local to us and dog friendly. It was a freezing day so we were happy to be seated next to the open fire. The staff were very friendly and all made an effort with our toddler and cocker spaniel. The food was amazing, would have loved a dessert but we were all full. Definitely will be returning here in the near future! 😊

WENT FOR XMAS DINNER AND TO START I WISH TO SAY THE FOOD FOR XMAS LUNCH WAS WONDERFUL BUT WE HAD NO DRINK ON ARRIVAL AND AFTER HALF AN HOUR WE HAD TO ASK FOR A DRINK THE STARTER AND THE MAIN ARRIVED OK BUT OUR PUDDING WE WERE STILL WAITING AFTER 35 MINS AND WHEN I ASKED ABOUT IT WAS TOLD VERY RUDELY WE ARE VERY BUSY SO THE TIP I HAD READY WAS NOT GIVEN THE XMAS LUNCH WAS NOT CHEAP SO WILL BE GOING ELSWHERE NEXT YEAR
