Having mixed up the dates of our visit to Northumberland we found we'd arrived a day too early for our Airbnb booking Thank goodness we found The Old Storehouse - the room, food and staff were fantastic and the price for B & B was a far better deal than the Airbnb we'd booked for the following 4 nights! Loved the rear access to the downstairs rooms at the back. We wished we could have stayed here for the whole of our visit.

This place is the best I love the food I love the staff there all MINT super happy 😁 I’ve been working my way through the menu now and it’s all lush from egg Benedict to the massive breakfast they even have smoked kippers which is my favourite and the fish chowder isdelicious Yess it’s a big 10/10 from me

Value for money provided you book a deal. Beautiful, quiet riverside setting and ideal location for walking. Lovely, helpful staff, communal areas cosy, comfy bed, adequate breakfast and food is pub grub, plenty of free parking but… very tired decor in a lot of places, slapdash paintwork, cold bedroom (radiator not working - small electric heater provided as alternative) and only a towel rail to heat bathroom, leisure facilities closed and no boot room for drying walking gear - essential for walkers. I would recommend as a walking base but not for a relaxing break.

Recently taken over after 25yrs, really disappointing, mediocre food and service. This place used to be rammed for lunch yet today was only missing the tumbleweed, waitress miserable, food v average, lukewarm and worst gravy ever, all veg on the plate, never asked once was the food ok, never came and asked us if we wanted more drinks or dessert. I’ve worked in catering and know how hard a good lunch service can be but with only two in the whole place they couldn’t have cared less….bring back hot plates, steaming bowls of veg and good beef gravy 😢

Went along with Husband and his family for Christmas dinner, food was really good and well presented, staff we a-tentative but not invasive, restaurant felt very relaxed and not at all hurried for the table to clear for another sitting. Can’t fault anything at all. Will probably return.

Came for the Sunday lunch carvery. The staff were delightful. The beer (TT Landlord and another pale one) were beautifully kept. The pub has a welcoming and cosy feel to it The carvery was good quality and plentiful (we liked the plates with 'sides' on to keep stuff from falling off). Giant Yorkies! The meats were tender and tasty. It all sounds so good so far...but. Clearly the veg and spuds are kept under lamps so diners can help themselves to 'unlimited' portions, but the sad fact is that they just weren't warm enough - not actually hot - and certainly not 'piping' hot. It really took the edge off the experience for me which is a real shame as everything else was perfect. Easily solved too, for future diners, if the management and staff choose to do so. This review is getting 4* not 5*, purely due to this aspect.

Food very good, reception and dining room staff friendly and helpful. Bar staff not very good, one female brusque to the point of rudeness. Rooms small and not very comfortable, no where to relax in the rooms apart from on the uncomfortable bed. Not an issue if there were comfortable chairs and communal areas to relax for hotel guests or even comfortable chairs in the bar areas which there wasn’t. Would not recommend as a hotel or a bar to visit but food was good

Booked a table for a Sunday lunch while in the area and have to say it was the worst meal we have had for a long time. The Sunday lunch was abysmal. The meat was tough, the vegetables were rock hard, not "Al dente".Potato's tasted like last weeks. There was cross contamination whilst serving meat,ie chef using same knife and serving utensils between pork and beef. The pan seared chicken supreme was bland, very little chicken,no flavour at all. The children's meatballs was inedible. The place itself was lovely and could be a super venue.such a disappointment and needs a major shake up.

Not so much a hotel, it’s just rooms above a pub. My single room was warm and clean with a separate en-suite. The shower was a good size with plenty of hot water. I arrived after they stopped serving food on Sunday evening, the pub was shut on Monday so I didn’t see any staff at all by the time I left on Tuesday morning (I just left the room key on the stairs). There were a couple of packaged croissants in the room along with butter and jam portions and orange juice in a tiny fridge, plus tea/coffee/kettle. There’s no mobile phone signal so you do need to be sure to grab the WiFi code. The WiFi work fine as did the TV. The pillows were fine but the mattress was a bit lumpy, although it didn’t stop me getting to sleep. It’s a quirky old building so the floors are a bit slopey, but only enough to give it some character.

Popped in for lunch on a day over to Lindisfarne. Despite advertising that they cater for gluten free, a disappointing menu. When I asked at the bar if they do anything gluten free, the barman said that anything gluten free will have GF after it on menu, but they can do any sandwich with gluten free bread. There were no meals suitable on menu, so I went back to bar and asked if their spread was dairy free. Barmaid gives a big sigh and goes to check. Comes back to say yes it is, what do you want- like it was a big inconvenience for her. It’s not my husbands fault that he has allergies. Such attitude makes me wonder how anyone goes back here. Sarnie was ok but they didnt seem to do it separate to normal food as hubby found a bit of grated cheese attached to his bread. If he hadn’t spotted it, he would have been I’ll. overpriced too as the bread was just normal sliced bread. WONT BE GOING BACK!

Never in my life have I encountered someone as ill-mannered and discourteous in customer service as the blonde woman we crossed paths with whilst stopping here. Attitudes like that are something that will guarantee a customer never to return. Hopefully she can cheer up with the onset of the festive season and provide a more pleasant experience for future visitors.
