The best restaurants serving British food in England

Just like it was back in the late 80's.. just visited recently & everything was 10 star!!!

Went for tasting menu in Dec with two good friends,food was very good and certainly an experience but not as much as the experience when it came to paying my bill as our combined bill came to £519.77 we then split the bill three ways so £173.00 each and then i was personally charged an incredible £713.26!a refund was supposedly given and when my credit card bill came through I had been charged the full £712.26 plus the £173.00 total £885.26.When I rang for a refund there were No apologies whatsoever and no attempt to refund, with two e-mails sent and three phone calls, just excuses ie re decorating etc, still waiting for a credit refund on that incredible overcharge,customer aftercare and hospitality zero so beware! Another absolutely brilliant dinner in a warm, cosy, quaint restaurant with great atmosphere! Fantastic home made, home cooked food, hot and tasty, good portion size, served by lovely staff delivering excellent, friendly, efficient yet unobtrusive service! . Can't fault the place. Consistently great!

Lunch was amazing. Dealt well with a big group and food was delicious. Sweet potato gnocchi with curried sweetcorn and kale was transcendentally good! Strongly recommend.

Very nice carvery. But definitely down on hygiene. Toilets were disgusting. Worst it's been in many years

Amazing Experience. Excellent Customer Service! Everything was perfect. The food was delicious and nutritious. Love all of the extras little things that they have thought about e.g. in the bathroom and with the bill. Additionally, they did not charge extra for tap water and they did not add a service charge on which again is really appreciated! We will definitely be visiting again! 😊

After hearing good things about this place myself and my partner thought we’d try their Sunday roast. Well we were not disappointed in the slightest! The atmosphere was great. The staff were very friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. And the food was just perfect! We will definitely be back and would highly recommend you check it out 🌟

I stayed nearby for a little solo trip away and popped into here for my Wednesday evening treat. Atmosphere was delightful, staff so friendly, and the food was great - good for veggies too. One of the best pubs i've been to in a long time. The nostalgia of a toilet block separate from the pub building too. Just remember it's cash only.

We stayed in one of the two rooms available at the Blue Bell Inn. It was very modern and had all the fittings you would need for a stay of a few nights (including oven, toaster, kettle, hob, coffee machine etc.). The owner was lovely and was extremely accommodating, showing us around and explaining how to access the room at night. The room itself was spacious and included a large double bed with very good quality linen. There was a TV but we did not use it. I would highly recommend this lovely apartment style room for any visitors passing through the area.

Thank you Dave and staff for a really enjoyable new years eve. Due to financial constraints we are not able to use your services any way near as much as we'd like but you always make us feel welcome when we are able to visit.
